Casa de Oralia was a perfect harbour after long walks of sightseeing as well as exhausting traffic of the city surroundings. It offered a quiet, safe and relaxing place to stay in one of most overwhelming cities I've yet visited. Very warm welcoming, useful advices for practical things and a delightful stay for 7 nights! Thank you so much!!

Casa de Oralia, Havana, Cuba
Oralia is absolutely a fantastic woman. She is always there to help you. She helped us for example when we couldn't find any money in town by giving us money to pay the taxi-driver. Accommodation was clean, showers were clean (you have to wait a little bit long for warm water!), and the breakfast was perfect for just 3 cuc p/p. One disadvantage of Casa de Oralia is the location. It's located at a 30 min. walk from the centre!

Discovering Cuba at La Casa De Oralia
We spent 8 nights at Mrs Oralia's place in total not really knowing what to expect when renting a home at a Casa Particular. We heard some stories but we did not know how the process went. Fortunately, all our expectations were met by Mrs Oralia. The room was clean and included air conditioning, refrigerator and cabinet space. Breakfast at her place is also very cheap and can be asked for by request. At La Casa De Oralia there is even a lovely terrace where we could spent our evenings drinking Cuba Libres in the comfort of a rocking chair. Important to add is when travelling with a group of 3 or 4 people it is definitely recommended to rent a car, as did we.
At Hotel ''Havana Libre'' there is a renting office which has cars available throughout the year at some of the lowest rates in town. We found this car rental service via the help of Mrs Oralia. There are however also buses that take travelers across the country, the bus agency is called ''Viazul''. Buses leave from the bus-terminal which is about a 5 min walk from this Casa Particular. However, I would only recommend taking the bus when traveling alone or with 2 persons. Traveling by car provides a lot more flexibility and enjoyment of the rich countrysides. We travelled to Varadero, Santa Clara, Trinidad, Camaguey, Santiago de Cuba and some other smaller towns on the way which seemed interesting enough to make a quick stop. (Be sure to bring enough Moneda Nacional with you to buy snacks but don't worry Cadeca's can be found in all the cities I just mentioned). Mrs. Oralia went above and beyond to guide us with everything we needed. From assisting us with finding our way in Havana to providing us with directions to other Casa Particulars in the country. She even arranged a cab with lower rate that took us to the airport when our vacation time in Cuba was up. When making the price/worth trade-off we would surely recommend all visitors to make your stay Cuba more pleasant by booking a room at La Casa de Oralia.
Cozy nights at her place with travelers from all over the world make sure that there is no boring minute during your stay. She is very helpful and treats all her visitors with dignity and respect.

La Casa De Oralia Reviews from the Web
We had a great time at Oralias casa. I stayed there the second time and always would go there again. Oralia also helped us a lot with organizing our trip from Havana to Playa Giron and find a casa there. Thanks a lot Oralia. Until the next time:-)
Oralia is great! Her house is near the Plaza de la Revolucion, in Vedado, a quiet neighborhood in Havana. Clean sheets, hot water, good food and coffee. A safe stay in Vedado.
was an o.k. stay that i can say the most. house woman note very nice. breakfast was simple but fresh. location is far from the center. have been to much better casa later on the trip.
its a nice place and Oralia was very nice to us. Closer to Plaza de Revolucion. However, its quite a walk to Old Havana and other places.
Oralia is very honest and helpful lady that cares about people a lot.
Casa is quite stylish with particular design and has a great terazza.
The location is perfect with a good proximity to the city center and local fruit market, restaurant and garden.
We had some wonderfull days at Casa de Oralia. A very nice balcony. Breakfast were ok and the old town as well the centre were easily reachable by foot.
The breakfast was inadequate for the price after experiancing other casas
Great Casa in Havana! Would recommend it to everybody!
Oralia was really nice and helpful. Loved her place and would recommend it!
La Casa de Oralia was without a doubt our favorite place in Cuba. Oralia is the sweetest, kindest, funniest and most helpful person imaginable. She really made us feel at home. The casa had everything we needed. A nice bed, a small fridge with a freezer, fan, AC and a shared bathroom with a nice shower. After a long day wandering the streets of Havana, we couldn't wait to get home to the terrace and the hammock. Next time we're in Cuba, la Casa de Oralia will surely be our first destination.
A very nice Casa with big rooms and a big balcony. The owner recommended me a restaurant that is very close which was great and very cheap.
I enjoyed my stay with lady orillia, she is very caring, great breakfast, help with getting taxi and other details. This location is in a quiet part of Havana(eventhough there is a neighbors dog which barks often.) with the local bus with 1 pesos you can get a ride to havana Vieja or walk about 1/2 hr.
The owner was nice but the room and bathroom were not what we expected from the images. The bathroom had to be shared with other people, the shower hardly had any water pressure and after 9 o'clock the owner had turned off the boiler so there was no warm water to shower with.
Also the location is not very near the center.
Generally the breakfast costs 3 cuc in Havana, but this casa required 4 cuc.
Hot shower is impossible.
I don't lke it the casa...Very drty...
Hostess is a heavy smoker and smokes everywhere in the house including the room we sleep when she is talking with us.
She is helpful though not so friendly.
The house is busy with about 8 people using ONE bathroom; so bring a pee jar!
Everything was good friendly staff ( owner), price, location, clean, silent only 1 thing maeby- better breakfast.coffie juice ok but only 1 egg.
Such a welcoming and lovely place to stay. Highly recommended. They can also help you plan the rest of your trip and help you find accommodation with friends throughout the country. Great location and comfortable rooms.
Great service, great food, lovely people
This place is awesome. If you want to truly experience Cuba, then this is the place you must visit. Plus, it's in a very good and safe area, perfect to walk around and a couple of blocks from Plaza la Revolucin.
I rent two double rooms, air conditioned, with TV, fridge, phone access, supplied with linen, towels, etc., and a shared bathroom, with hot water the whole day. One of the rooms has a double bed, and the other twin personal beds. We offer, not included in the price, breakfast and meals; prices depend on the menu, but they are always below the ones of the restaurants for tourists. We offer laundry service. Visitors will enjoy our beautiful terrace, with plants and a hammock to rest. No garage, but a sure parking place.
The house is located 5 minutes on foot to the Plaza de la Revolución, and similar to the main bus station, to visit provinces. Ten minutes on foot to Havana University, 15 to “La Rampa”, heart of the city, and to Havana “Malecon”; finally, 25 minutes to the marvelous Old Havana, always on foot. Since the house, by car, you can reach every point of the city in no more than 20 minutes. We are legally authorized to rent for foreign visitors. Familiar but respectful environment; you will feel as in your own house.
