Unbeatable Value
Believe the hype this place is fantastic. Excellent value with a large breakfast buffet, superb, friendly staff and a location right next to the ski lift that can't be beat. The bar is an excellent place to unwind in the evening and serves good quality and reasonably priced meals. I had a fantastic time in Bad Gastein. I'll come back and I'll definitely stay at Euro Youth Hotel. I only have one complaint about this place. On the day I left they were closing the entire hotel down for several weeks and I couldn't store my luggage anywhere for the day making my last day of skiing a bit awkward as I was living out of a railway station locker. This is a basic service that I have never been denied before (or since) at any hotel or hostel. This was right in the middle of the Easter holidays, madness!
Amazing! Loved it!
Hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed in, ever! As everyone else said -- so much for so little! More like a hotel than a hostel. Full bar and restaurant, and the town of Bad Gastein is so great with skiing and shops and loads of outdoor activities for the summer and winter -- you won't be bored! I'd go back in a heartbeat! Was so sad to go. So convenient to everything including the ski mountain and the train station. Really friendly, knowledgeable staff. They also organize all kinds of tours -- something going on every day (visit to the ice caves). And I do recommend the ice caves! Oh yeah. And the entire place was so spotless and cleaned by a housekeeping staff as opposed to the hostel staff. Like I said, more like a hotel than a hostel!
What a steal!
this hostel is so unbelievably close to the ski hill it will drive you crazy! there's a few couches which make up a common room, lots of clean showers and toilets, a breakfast you can't really complain about, and a deal with the local ski rental shops. there's no kitchen (even a microwave would be nice), and the dorms are cramped full of smelly skiers, myself included. get ski clothes from the lost and found if needed.
Brilliant hostel. It is an old luxury hotel, which still has all the luxury parts to it. Bar, breakfast included, and the rooms are very clean. Our room had its own bathroom. No kitchen but you can purchase meals, which were very good. Walking distance to the train station. Free parking. The town is beautiful and it is worth going there for a few days to look around or relax. (Thermal baths are right next door.) Definitely go into town to have a look at the waterfall and give the paragliding a go, it is worth the money.
Friendly owners and staff, located at the bottom of a beautiful hill for snow boarding. Everything is right at your doorstep. The breakfast was good, there were lockers, and it was really safe. I can't wait till ski season again.
This was a one of the friendliest places I stayed on my travels. The owners are great, and the chef, Ivan is brilliant. It is close to the train, and has a fantastic view. Can't wait to go back.
Awesome, so much for so little.
Liked: Nice clean place. Liked wifi, breakfast, room, location Didn't like: Lack of kitchen makes dinners quite expensiveNo hostel atmosphere. More hotel-like.
Liked: Location: just on the other side of the road at the train station, a big supermarket (Eurospar) right next door.Nice breakfast in a beautiful hall - the hostel is part of a pretty noble hotel. The hostel rooms are in the basement, but the dining hall (during the free breakfast) is used with all other guests and all the facilities and furniture (toilet and bed f.ex.) seem high quality.Incredible price-value-ratio considering that Austria is not the cheapest place.Pretty much the best place I've ever stayed at! Didn't like: Nothing I can think of
nice clean tidy
Liked: The whole building was clean and the room was very comfortable. The location is also very good, only 1 minute from the railway station and from the ski tracks. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Great value for money. Didn't like: They should indicate in the description of the hotel that the breakfast is included in the price.
Liked: A great place - loved the bar & terrace, pool & foosball room, cheap laundry, helpful staff, good sized double room with a new bathroom and just a stone's throw from the train station, gondola & thermal spas. Didn't like: Would love to come back in winter for some snowboarding or in summer when more people would be around
I enjoyed my stay at Krone very much. It is very convinient location if you come by train. It is easy to find. If you come for hiking it is very good starting point. Bus station is also very close to this Hostel and Spar department store. Also therme and a few restorants where you can get your meals for reasonable price. Breakfast is really great! Staff is pleasent and ready to help what ever you ask for. If I will be coming next time to Bad Gastein I will for sure stay again at this pleasent place.
Good location and the daily meny was very good and priceful.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, big rooms with balconies, good breakfast, small prices. Of course, there's a lot of noise from trains passing by, but after a day of walking in the mountains no noise can wake you up.
With great pleasure we come back there over and over again.
Liked: Great location near the train station, large rooms, comfortable. great shower/bathroom areas. very safe and secure and a well kitted communal area for hostel visitors! Didn't like: Was a bit quiet, as in we were the only two in a 12man dorm. although not a problem with the hostel. A problem for all those missing out!
Ligger centralt, renna rum, som ocks r stora, vr hade ven balkong.
The breakfast is not fancy, but you have a lot to choose from and you do not have to start the day hungry. The room is cleaned every day and you have a balcony and of course an excelent view!
Perfect location next to a supermarket, near the train station and opposite a ski lift. Great breakfast, great private double room, everything clean, friendly staff, restaurant offered enjoyable meals, we our washing done. I can see how this is a highly rated hotel.
Staff was very nice and especially helpful with directions to the hiking trails. Right across from the train station so you don't have to lug your bags up and down the steep streets. Fantastic restaurant and menu of the day. Was upgraded from dorm to an immaculate single so absolutely nothing to complain about.
it was another great stay at the euro youth hotel in bad gastein... i have been coming back to the place for 7 years now and i just love it.
Liked: Everything was awesome! My girlfriend arrived here right on the end of the ski season to find that they had closed the dorms and upgraded us to a private room. Everything was quite clean and the facilities were much better than most of the hostels we'd previously stayed in. The staff were friendly and very helpfull and we were able to get discounts on board and boot hire. The hostel is located just across the train tracks from the ski lifts so you cant really expect a better location. The beer was cheap and plentiful at the bar and the food was also really good. Didn't like: Nothing, everything was awesome!
Staying in Bad Gastin is always great. This was my 5th time and it keeps getting better! Keep up the good work!
It was a bit cold in the room but the warm blanket made up for this.
The breakfast was gorgeous and totally helpful.
All ok.
It has been the third time for me to stay at the EuroYouthHostel in Bad Gastein and it was great again. Everything works out fine. No trouble... Easy going way of vacation! Go there and check it out!
Everything perfect!
