TERRIBLE -- MANAGEMENT FRAUDSTERS!!
They confirm one price then charge another, directly to your card without your authorization. Is this not fraud? They want you to wash your own dishes and change your own bed linen. Then why am I paying hotel prices? The breakfast is at a super early inconvenient hour, like 7 to 7:30 a.m. WTF? And it's rubbish. The reason? Well, it's convenient for the management. They do nothing but wander about with their fake breasts groping each other (it's a couple -- get a room, one of your own preferably), bitching about other guests and hardselling their sh*tty boat trips where you get bedbugs. They are located off the main drag so one good thing is that you don't hear the din at night. But then you also have to wait for hourly intervals to get home on their bus. And if it's full, it's your tough shite. Plus past 8 p.m., you have to get a cab. All in all, an embarrassment. Not sure what the management do. I am disappointed in the guide book for having recommended. Don't go there.
Good hostel for some peace and quite
This hostel is very different from the all other in Airlie beach in many ways. At first, personality. You feel welcome and everyone is friendly, even the staff. Second, it's quite and relaxing. Not for party hard people even if there is many people sharing a beer in the evenings and taking the shuttle to Magnums or Beaches some nights. The pool is clean and the spa is amazing! Breakfast is hotel-standard with fresh muffins! Bad things is the distance to Airlie beach and the rooms are a bit run down. There is no movie-projector as shown in the pictures, just a very tiny old TV. Internet is expensive, 6 dollar per hour! Also aircondition cost money but not much. Different ages and high rate natives staying there makes it interesting for the traveler to get tips about things to do and see in Australia. Different birds, wallabies, and kangaroos can be spotted in the garden. Could have been the perfect hostel if a little more work in fixing broken and rundown things was done.
Very average
Hostel far from Airlie beach but there are many Free shuttles. cabins are ok but the management is just looking for money. I have been charged three nights and stayed two over xmas. you must insert coin to get air conditioning for two hours! unbelievable. the photos you may have seen don't represent at all the reality -- forget the spa! the breakfast is average and milk out of date! there is no ambiance at all, it is just a quiet place to rest up -- forget parties.
This is not a Hostel, this is a resort! We stood in a four-bed bungalow. Own kitchen, TV, terrasse, garden. Quiet and clean. Everybody friendly, there for you at every time. Breakfast in the garden, fresh fruits, and self-baked muffins. A family-feeling! Free buses to Airlie all over the day, but also a nice walk. If you don't want to stay directly at the party-area in Airlie -- this is your perfect destination!
Great hostel -- best in Airlie Beach. Friendly caring staff, the best quality hostel rooms i experienced in a year of backpacking around Oz.
Excellent Hostel! I have stayed in Hostels all over Australia and this hostel is by far the best. In 2003 i stayed at bush village for three months, had the time of my life and never wanted to leave. recently when i returned to Oz for a months holiday i once again stayed at bushies. since my last visit all of the cabins have been updated (by far the best rooms in an Oz Hostel), there is now a new giant screen TV in the lounge showing movies by request and the staff are more friendly than ever. If you visit Airlie and would like to stay somewhere nice rather than wallowing in your own (and other people's) puke somewhere else, then stay at Bush Village!
Really great place. Nice and clean, staff really friendly and helped us a lot. Great free breakfast and shuttle bus into town regular. Very clued up on trips and helped us out when we needed to change a booking date for our trip.
Excellent place! If you're looking to get away from the drunken party that is Airlie Beach this is the place to be. Only a 15 minute walk from marina / town -- or frequent free courtesy buses. Free pick up & drop off to station. Clean, big rooms, spotless kitchen, friendly helpful staff, genuinely fantastic free breakfast -- only served 7.30-8.30 (But you can always go back to bed!). Swimming pool, TV room with projector screen, 8pm nightly movies, 5 min walk to Coles / ATM / Pharmacy / Bakery. Quiet location. These guys have got it spot on!!
Cute vibes, good value for money, a bit of a walk from the main area but well serviced by the local bus.
Absolutely loved our stay here! The staff are always super friendly and happy to help out where possible. They really made our stay so easy and fun. Definitely recommend staying here. The location is good about a 30min scenic walk to Airlie main so worth being out of town if you want some value for money.
I often stay in 5 star resorts, and often find myself disappointed. So I decided to go rustic this time around and absolutely I loved Bush Village! The cleanliness was heads and shoulders above most 5 star resorts in the area, lots of kitchen amenities! Full size fridge, hot plates to cook, microwave oven and a large bathroom, nice spacious shower and separate toilet. There was a lot of light in the room and the bed was so comfortable! It has everything you need to feel at home on holiday!
Liked: The double private cabin was great. Very clean and quiet. Lovely little pool area with relaxing chairs and free WiFi. Good facilities. Free luggage storage. Good fan and air con. No problems with the actual accommodation :) Didn't like: The owner 'Bryan' was very rude on the phone to me and told me (after booking) that my arrival time was out of office hours. He said I should make sure I read the website before booking but I didn't remember seeing anything about check in times. I double checked the hostel bookers website and their actual website and neither said anything about check in times! He has a rude unnecessary tone - this is a shame because it's a great place to stay otherwise.
Liked: What a lovely experience! Bryan and Jude were so friendly and welcoming, even cleaned our cabin first so we could check in early! Clean, quiet, relaxing place. We were sad to leave! Didn't like: N/a
Liked: The staff and it was very clean! Didn't like: The distance from town and it was expensive for a share cabin.
Liked: Friendly owner. Good facilities. Nicely appointed cabins. Wifi available in communal areas. Didn't like: It was a nice walk into town in the day, but a bit far at night
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice, quiet and familiar place. I definitely would come again. If you wanna go to the centre of Airlie Beach, there is a beautiful boardwalk next to the sea (ca. 25 minutes walk).
Very clean tidy affordable cabin and the staff were great. Would recommend this place and go back again.
Liked: Recently we stayed at Bush Village in Airie beach, and what a lovely stay it was. We were greeted by the lovely Angie, who was really welcoming, genuine and a fellow backpacker. After getting to Airlie beach at 7am on an overnight greyhound bus, my sister and I were both very tired. Angie checked us into our rooms straight away! The cabin was clean, cosy and we had everything we needed. The wifi was good and the shops were near (Coles, cafes etc) Brian was nice as he helped us book our transport to the airport and let us store our bags whilst we went on a whitsunday tour for two days. Angie made an effort to talk to us both about our travels and even gave us some advice on what tours to go on and where we should consider going to. Overall, a really nice relaxing stay with lovely staff! Plus the dogs were cool too and Tina turner the chicken. Didn't like: It's not a short walk from the main strip
Beautiful tropical surrounding. Lots of parking. Not far to walk into main centre and shops. Nice and quiet.
Liked: Very friendly and accommodating family owned staff. Nice quite place outside of the craziness of airlie beach, but at the same time you can walk or take a bus to the bars. Didn't like: NOTHING!!
Liked: It was quiet and away from the crowd Didn't like: Theres was wifi but only accessible from the reception and not the cabins.
