Great central location. Lots of tapas-bars around. Puerta del Sol and Plaza Santa Ana right behind the corner. Clean, spacious, air-conditioned rooms with clean bathrooms and a TV, furbished in a "moorish" fashion (though the reproductions from Prado were a bit cheesy). Friendly staff. Reasonable price. If you can't book a double room via internet try directly via phone, they are really helpful.
Great location and easy to get to from the metro ('Sevilla' or 'Sol'). Charming rooms, was disappointed that our air-conditioning was broken and not fixed for all three nights of our stay though. No breakfast, but they have vending machines in the foyer for snacks and a cute dog to pat -- Scotty the Golden Retriever.
I just stayed here in June. It has terrific rooms, a great staff, and it's right in the center of Madrid. I would really recommend this hostel. It has air-conditioning and is a fantastic deal.
Just got back from Madrid after staying in this hostel, and I'm very happy with the entire deal. Great pricing, friendly staff, and clean & tidy. Highly recommended and right in the heart of Madrid!
Just stayed here in mid September. BEAUTIFUL HOSTAL! Was my favorite one of all the hostals I've stayed at in Spain. Very clean and quaint and VERY centrally located, right by Puerta Del Sol. The staff is nice and friendly, we had a great room for 4 and it was clean and pretty. We had a balcony facing the street too and it was not noisy at all. Cheap too!! I think 35 euros a person?? Would love to stay here again if I ever go back to Madrid! It has TV and A/C and fresh towels every 2 days.
Liked: Location is good Didn't like: Towels were to be changed every 2 days and they weren't. Had to ask for towels and they gave me the small ones and nor were they changed after the 3 day, nor did we get shampoo on the 3rd day, nor were the floors ever swept. Basically the beds were made and on the first days we were given shampoo. Have stayed there before a couple of times but I was really disappointed this last time around.
Liked: very central location, wifi in the rooms, very clean - staff cleans the rooms everyday, nice tv in the room, good shower pressure Didn't like: AC did not work in the room, staff were dismissive, the hallways smelled like gummy bears, you have to pay for the safe in the room per use, you have to pay to store your luggage in lockers, noisy outside at night
Liked: Everything...very clean, room is cleaned every day, very nice & new bathroom, great shower, working TV with multiple channels, free wi-fi, great value for money. The best is the location, within walking distance of all attractions in the old centre of Madrid, close to restaurants, grocery stores, 2 minute walk to the Metro, close to Puerta del Sol square...probably the best hotel we stayed in during the trip. Didn't like: Slow elevator, which happened to be shared by everyone in the building because the stairs were being renovated...but that should no be an issue any longer. :)
Liked: Perfect location!! It was in the center of everything and we loved it. The room was very charming and overlooked a court yard of sorts with large open windows. It was the ideal Spanish atmosphere. Couldn't have had a better value for our money. Didn't like: It was slightly noisy being in the center of the city but we expected it when we slept with open windows.
Liked: Great location. Few steps from sol. Didn't like: Close to bars and restaurants. Very noisy at night especially on Friday.
Liked: Great location as it is literally 2 minutes from Sol where all is happening. Clean and exactly as described. Stuff were very polite and helpful. Room had air con, tv and even a safe! Didn't like: Nothing for me.
Liked: It had a very good location, close to lots of restaurants, stores, la Puerta del Sol, metro, and bus. Didn't like: Our room was on the side of the street and during the night, you can hear a lot of noise. However, this is expected b/c it's in the middle of everything.
Everything was excellent, i was the in the heart of madrid during my vacation.
Liked: Close to Sol station Didn't like: The rooms were extremely basic. The Sol area was extremly dirty. We saw a guy peeing right in front of the hostel. It smelled of beer and urine outside and inside was extremely loud with street noise....but it was New Years weekend.
The location could not be better!
the hostel was in a very good position,at 5 minutes walking from the most important/beautiful place in Madrid, but in a little street,so no traffic noise. there are some (good) restaurants and pubs in the street so if you really want silence you can ask an inner room. room was very little but very clean.and the staff, present in the reception 24hour, was well-mannered and kind, and helped us with all our questions/need.
We enjoyed our time stayed there 100%.Location fantastic, aprox. 2 min. from Puerta del Sol.I bravely recommend to anybody.
thank you for every thing, if time give us the chance we will return. very safe,
great hostel with a fantastic location. But a bit noisy at night.
We were staying in a private room with a bathroom and a shower inside. The room and bathroom were nice. Good air conditioning in the room. The staff were not very professional. We mentioned for the staff before our arrival by email that we are very allergic to pets and although that they kept a dog near the reception. There was no way to get inside our room without meeting that dog!
The position of the hotel was great, near to everything, like Plaza Major and Plaza reyal.
Nice hotel and good location. Clean and nice staff. Right in the middle of Madrid and in walking distance to everything. We got a room next to reception though and it was fairly noisy all night long, with people coming home late, etc.
