Camping Village Il Poggetto Reviews

Nice Tuscan Views

Stayed one night. Easy bus link to Florence. The camp itself had great views and the restaurant had decent portions for the price, the wine was nice. Not a lot happening around the campsite but it was nice to relax. Friendly staff.

This camp was surrounded by beautiful scenery in the Chianti region, but it's not for families or for anyone looking for on-camp fun. We stayed at the Florence camp for four nights in a bungalow. The camp itself is situated at least an hour from downtown Florence, and the only way in without your own vehicle is to pay 3.60 E or 6.20 E (round trip) for a bus pass. The staff is generally standoffish, refusing to change our room after we suffered an ant infestation in the bathroom. They just doused it in chemicals and sent us back into the pesticide filled room. The internet is extremely expensive here and if they give you a wireless card that doesnt work, they wont accept it for a refund. The lady who works in the bar was both beautiful and friendly, but she was really the only bright spot of this camp. Overall, I would not recommend this camp for anyone that wants to visit Florence, anyone who has a family, and anyone who is not an elderly or newlywed couple looking for a romantic get away.

Nice view of the hills, clean toilets and showers, and funny staff. Here you find rest and a nice pool, and to enter the city is an easy reach by bus. Also, I highly recommend the restaurant, as it has really nice pizzas and beefsteaks! If you are in search of both nature and city, I recommend this camping site.

Camping Village Il Poggetto Reviews from the Web

Liked: Nice and calm place to rest. Didn't like: The location is terrible and access to florence is very difficult, you have to pay 4 per hour to have wifi, there is not any place to eat near there apart of their own restaurant that can attend you or not.So if you do not have a car you became very isolated from the city and your people.

Perfect for Florence sightseeing, Local buses in one hour takes you to/from Firenze, great location

Liked: Staff were very nice, pool was fun and the restaurant food was good. Private lockers by the beds. Didn't like: It is not a good place for backpackers to stay. The rooms are located under the bar and restaurant, so due to the noise it's impossible to sleep until 12-2 in the morning. The cleaning lady will kick you out of the room and bathrooms at 8:30. You pay for the wifi and it only works in one spot on the whole campsite. There's only one outlet in the room, and no soap in the bathrooms. It's also an hours bus ride away from the city.

Liked: Great view and scenery Didn't like: Had to pay for wireless internet and when you did pay for it you got really poor internet connectionHad to pay for the poolHad to be out ofthe room by 9am every morning so they could "clean" the room however our garbage was not emptied once during out stayScreaming kids running around the building all night, there was no noise controlOur room was directly under the bar that was open until the middle of the night with drunk people and loud musicReceptionist were very wishy washy, when we first arrived we were told that we Had to pay with cash, we added an additional night to our stay and a different receptionist allowed us to pay by cardWe were charged more than what was advertised on hostelbookers. After I paid the deposit we were suppose to pay 66 euros upon arrival, the campsite charged by 74 and would not clearly explain what we were getting charged for.

Liked: In the highlands - nice view Didn't like: Located far from the city and last bus back to this property is too early (alternative transport was either too inconvenient or too expensive. Had to pay extra for bed linen and wifi access.

Liked: It was a nice and quiet place with an attractive swimming pool! Generally clean and in a nice out-of-town location. They have a restaurant with better-than-I-expected pizza. Didn't like: If you come with your own car, it's fine, but not very suitable for backpackers. In the weekends, there is particularly few buses, so make sure to look at the bus schedule before planning. In the dorm room with many beds, there was only one power plug!

Liked: Everything is good. Surroundings are beautiful Didn't like: it is far from the city center

Liked: quiete and clean, bus to firenze within 30 minutes (in the city center) so no stress with the car Didn't like: we stayed in a wooden room (really small) and it was really cold

Only 10km distance to Florence city center. Nice and well arranged area. Perfect condition of the camper.

Liked: this place is a bit off the city like an hr bus ride. But its a scenic bus ride and the place is so beautiful. The staff are awesome even got a golf buggy to get my bags up to my room. Go to the restaurant the food is sooo good and huge. Didn't like: WiFi was ok. Bathroom a bit small but im tall. and the distance is a bit of a inconvenience.

It was very difficult to arrive in the camping at 9:00 pm because no bus and no taxi, and wrong informations on the website. We were wake up at 9:00 am by the cleanwoman and we had to wait outside during the clean up. There is a swimming pool but, improbable, we had to buy and wear a hat swimming and we can not open the umbrella for the sun !!!!! It was noisy. People at the reception was not very welcoming.. To bad, because it is a nice place to stay with walks around (but not well indicated). I disadvice this camping.

Liked: We liked how quiet it was.Easy to get to other places. The staff were really helpful and friendlyWould love to return!! Didn't like: Nothing reallyBut only thing would be shop could have more and wifi coverage be a bit easier to access

Liked: Easy to reach. Not in overcrowed Florance, with only n short drive in.... FANTASTIC Didn't like: Nothing

Very nice place!!!

It wasn't very big campsite but it was really intertwined with nature. We stayed in a bungalov, there was ewerything we need in it.soaps and shampoo in the bathroom.a fridge, cups, and a lot of kitchen supplies..ewerything was considered.especially the cafe view was very nice and I suggest to drink can also barbecue.there is everything you need,in the market. It's a little far from downtown but transport is easy.from firenze SMN train station, get on the train which Arrezo is about 35 min.(1)when you come to the tren station, you can call the reception and they pick you up(6,f it's after 9pm)but I think bus is better.when you come to the Firenze SMN tren station,go to find SITA bus's about 200 metres by walk.ask somebody it.from campsite for coming back to the city center, there is a must buy a ticket from reception, this is cheaper one.(2,8)bus stop is exit of the camp, about 50 metres.I think don't think so much,if you want to stay where is peaceful, you can chose here.there is only one negation that it's a little far..

The Hostel is very nice. Beatiful place, unfortunatly it is too far from Florence.

Beautifull surroundings, frendly staff. Arriving there from A1 expressway is not so simple. You need a good map or good directions. We enjoyed our stay there (great pool and good restaurant).

We were sleeping in the hostel rooms and there was a wedding upstairs in the restaurant with lot of noise. They've asked a lot of sorry and moved us to a private room. Very good homemade Pizza at TROGHI with Marco, very friendly! Good rate! Fair!

If you want a summer camp, it's an ideal choice. If you want to experience Florence and have an affordable stay, it's a great choice - if you have a car or get all the transport info before you come, since it can get a bit tricky to get to the city. Spacious trailers, cool surroundings, high level of privacy. Rather good, I'd say!

This is q good hostel. I will definately come back. The room is nice as same as the staffs. But the location quite far. its around45mins away from town. other thnn that is perfect.
