This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel.
Ellos is a tiny fishing town in the Orust Municipality of Sweden. The town itself does not have much to see, but it is one of the best places to go and relax because of the lack of tourists. Finding a hostel here should be easy. There are also B&Bs and other accommodations in Ellos. The biggest attractions of Ellos include visiting famous places nearby and enjoying the proximity to the clear seas, along with the many activities in it.
In addition to being a small town, Ellos is also very old. Talking to a local at your hostel will open up a lot of information about the history of the town, its origins, past, and more. Walk through the quaint little streets and check out the rustic life in the town that is curiously mixed with modern amenities like supermarkets and hospitals.
From Ellos, take a trip down to Mollosund, which is about twelve kilometers away. It is another old village right on the west coast with a lot of rich history. Settlements in and around this town date back to the 16th century, so there are many old homes to see. When you get back to Ellos after a day out at Mollosund, indulge in the local seafood dishes like lutefisk.
The best time to visit Ellos is in the summer, when the weather is clear and the temperature is fine throughout the day. Check out some of the beautiful sunsets as you walk along the marina, where multiple boats, yachts, trawlers, and other vessels are anchored. You can take a ride in one of these during the day by booking tours from your hostel or just asking the locals to take you along.
After a fun day out on the water, you can work off your appetite by going to the Brygghuset restaurant, a popular eatery right on the waterfront. The décor here resembles an old warehouse and is right in the marina. You can eat while looking out across the docks, and you can enjoy the selection of beverages at the restaurant.
