Aguada, Puerto Rico, is a municipality on the west coast of Puerto Rico. Around forty two thousand people live in the coastal town, which is a popular tourist destination. Besides tourism, the processing of sugarcane is important for the local economy.
The municipality was founded in the late fifteenth century, and it is even believed that Christopher Columbus himself landed where the town of Aguada is located nowadays. The temperatures here range from twenty-nine to thirty-four degrees Celsius all year round. Basically, you can distinguish between the rainy season from April to November and the dry season from December to March. Keep in mind that hurricanes can hit the island, so check the news before you start traveling.
There are numerous hotels and holiday apartments spread in Aguada and along the coastline. Most hotels have two stars -- do no expect big luxurious resort hotels in the coastal town.
