Iguazu, Argentina, is a sprawling city close to Iguazu Falls! There's lots of different Iguazu, Argentina hostel options, many of which are in the main town and close to the bus station. The main town itself has lots of shops, restaurants, bars, banks, and a cathedral. It's a little dirty and lots of things are closing down, so the main attraction for sure is Iguazu Falls.
The town doesn't have too much in the way of activities -- you can walk along the river and then get to a viewpoint ("The Three Countries Viewpoint") where you can see Paraguay and Brazil whilst being in Argentina. Otherwise, it's a bus trip to the nearby animal conservation centre, and of course, the day trip to The Falls. There's boats you can take from Iguazu itself and the sunset is impressive to watch.
The hostels in Iguazu, Argentina, are all well equipped and they're prepared for the heat -- several have pools and some offer themed nights and Argentinian BBQs during your stay. There's a good atmosphere and good facilities in whatever Iguazu, Argentina hostel you choose. The town seems to struggle with power cuts, so don't count on the Wi-Fi being too reliable (or the power for that matter!)
Iguazu is nice enough, but there's not too much to do and see, so most people head here for one or two nights to see The Falls and to either continue their journey through to Brazil/Paraguay or carry on around Argentina. Iguazu, with its close proximity to the other two surrounding countries, does make it a good base if you wanted to have a couple of day trips to Brazil or Paraguay.
The town has everything you'd need in the way of laundry facilities (available in some of the hostels in Iguazu, Argentina too) and ATMs, and the main centre is pretty small. There's several supermarkets and some duty-free shopping malls in case you need to stock up! The bus station is the main entry point and it's chaotic, but not too far from anywhere, so it's easy to walk around this town and there's no need to rely on transport unless you want to visit the further-away attractions!
