Best hostel yet!
I've stayed in some wonderful hostels across Europe but this one was just the best! The dorms were amazing with little curtained beds that have everything you need to feel a bit of privacy -- which in hostels can be hard to come by. also despite everyone socializing was still a quiet hostel at night. The atmosphere was just great, people and staff so friendly. Was a great stay in an awesome city! Will be back. (One thing is the walk from station to hostel is directly uphill. If heavy bags or unfit get a tuk tuk).

Good location; friendly and helpful staff; clean; great pancakes
Good. My only criticism would be that the kitchen is very small for guests preparing their own meals, especially since it is also used by the hostel's chef preparing group meals.

Great place to stay!
It is very clean, staff friendly, hostel located away from the city noise though just some 15 min. walk from the city center with comfortable enough rooms for budget and mid-class tourists. Location is great as you have a tram right at the door step, metro and bus just 5 min walk away. They have Wi-Fi you can use 24/7, kitchen you can can use anytime with no restrictions and can get back to the hostel anytime you want. Yes! And breakfast is what differ this hostel from many other hostels at the world! You have a homemade pancakes (!!) made with a lot of love attached! Yummy! Those who are searching for swimming pool at the garden at the roof top I recommend to choose another destination.

Great stay!
Wonderful place! Excellent, friendly, helpful staff! Close to city and public transport lines! Free breakfast and internet! Would definitely stay again!
We had a great stay at Alfama Patio Hostel! It has everything anyone would want. They take you out to the bars at night if you want, they put on events at the hostel (like movies on a Sunday night), and if you just want to relax you can do that as well (it doesn't get really loud at night). It's on the smaller side, which really helps you to meet and mingle with everyone. The Location It has the perfect location -- only a two-minute walk to the tram, which takes you basically everywhere. The hostel sells a card that is valid for twenty-four hours -- we highly recommend buying one! It's also only a ten-minute walk to the train station Apalonia. But just know, it is uphill the entire way to the hostel. If we knew that before we made the "trek," we would have gotten the tram or a taxi (which is fairly cheap). The directions the hostel gives you when you book are perfect. We were supposed to get off at Oriente Station, but stayed on because we knew it went on to Apalonia. Following the directions from Apalonia is your best bet. Rooms and Bathrooms The rooms are pretty spacious. Beds are comfortable (for a hostel). The sheets are included, towels are not. You have to pay to rent a towel. Most rooms are both guys and girls. The hostel offers nice views over the city. There is no AC but a fan is in the room, which keeps it pretty cool at night. Everyone gets a locker under their bed and a safe. The bathrooms are very small! The toilets are separate from the showers. Both of them are nice but just tiny. There is nowhere to change getting into/out of the shower. Bring your own soap, there is none in the shower. There is a hair dryer for anyone to use. Common Spaces This hostel boasts excellent common spaces. The staff try to provide an event every night, which is nice -- it really allows you to mingle and meet everyone staying there. There is an awesome rooftop terrace. The BBQ on Saturday nights is delicious! There is lots of open room outside and a nice sitting area inside. There is no TV, but there are computers to use for free. Summary We would highly recommend this hostel to anyone and we would stay there again. The staff are so courteous and helpful. You ask them the best places to see and they tell you and show you how to get there (knowing the tram or bus numbers). They speak excellent English. They really try to make you feel comfortable and make sure you are happy.

Stands above the rest!
I have stayed in many hostels around the world, and this place tops them all. It is very new and in the very best part of Lisbon -- Alfama, where I felt as if I was transported to the past. It is a small hostel and very personal. Each night I chatted with the owners. I cannot say anything bad about this place. If you go to Lisbon, you have must stay here. Perfect for people looking for a cozy place to chill, relax, meet great people, and explore Lisbon.
