Upon arrival at the airport, guests can take shared shuttles (this is the safest option), private cabs and even Ubers that can take you straight to Panajachel. Our agents are happy to arrange a private or shared transport but cannot in good faith recommend the irresponsibly fetishized Chicken Buses. We urge our guests to avoid these as they are old U.S school buses that sometimes are 30 years old or more and are driven by extremely reckless drivers that require no certification and can be host to a wide range of issues, from breakdowns to accidents and petty theft. Please ask about safe shuttles instead and we will happily book them for you. Atitrans or Casa Alegre Tours are our shuttles of choice and will drop you off half a block from the hostel. Once in Panajachel, ask for the Tzanjuyu (Zan-hoo-yoo) Docks and before you arrive to the actual boats you will find signs directing you to The Beach and Azul Rosa. The path to our bar/nightclub can also be located by looking for the fire-engine red Burger Shop and asking for Azul Rosa, where you will be handed a welcome cocktail and the keys to your room as well as a tour of the facilities.
