The Location
The hostel is situated downtown, about five blocks from the main square. In the area, guests can find a variety of shops, restaurants, bakeries, pharmacies, and bars. The street isn't particularly pretty but it is safe. Nuevo Puesto is a thirteen-minute taxi from the bus terminal and twenty minutes from the airport. There is no availability for parking, however bag storage is available.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The accommodation provides a number of different room options, including privates and dorms. The dorms are fairly spacious and one is particularly large with an en suite bathroom. The beds aren't anything special but sufficiently comfortable, and the rooms are kept clean. There's not a lot of space to hang clothing besides on the beds themselves.
Power outlets are available, though not at every bunk. Lockers are offered for storing valuables, though these also seemingly double as spaces to store blankets as well.
There are three shared toilets, three showers, and one sink. The bathrooms are kept fairly clean, though the infrastructure is quite old. For example, the en suite dorm bathroom toilet is partially disconnected from the floor. As well, no soap is provided.
Wi-Fi has good speed and works throughout the hostel, though it occasionally disconnects.
Common Spaces
Nuevo Puesto Hostel provides several common spaces, the first of which is a small living room just beyond the hostel's entrance/reception. This room contains a couch, chair, and TV. Beyond, the guest encounters a small kitchen, featuring fridge, stove, counter space, and all the necessary dishes and cutlery. Due to its size, it is somewhat difficult for more than two people to cook simultaneously. A light breakfast is offered every morning from 7 to 11 a.m., consisting of bread, tea, and coffee.
Tables and chairs make up a dining area, and more seating options can be found in the spacious courtyard where guests are able to relax and hang out. The hostel has the ability to be quite social but doesn't have a "party-party" vibe.
One more common area offers a similar arrangement to the courtyard, with tables and chairs where you can relax. This space also has a sink for washing clothes.

Description
Located in the center of Salta, just three blocks from the pedestrian and 6 blocks from the main square and only 13 blocks from the bus station and 7 km from the international airport.
Nuevo Puesto is an old house renovated to provide comfort to backpackers and families, always offering quality at a great price.
Hostal Nuevo Puesto has double rooms with private bathroom, private rooms for three or four people and shared rooms.
You can cook anything you want because the kitchen is fully equipped. Finally we have T.V and a computer room, and two yards to enjoy the good weather of the city.
The receptionists are always happy to report on the various activities that can be performed inside and outside the province.
