The Lost Hostel Munnar joins the chain of Lost Hostels in southern India. The hostel in Munnar is situated on top of a hill, surrounded by forest. This sociable hostel is a great base from which to explore the area around the hill station of Munnar. It is very easy to meet other travelers and arrange group tours of the mountains and tea plantations or sunrise trips.
The Location
The hostel is in a wonderful location in the small village of Anachal, but is not in the city of Munnar. It is close enough to Munnar to easily and cheaply get a bus into town, however, it is much nicer to enjoy the natural mountain surroundings rather than the busy center of Munnar. The small village near the hostel is home to several small shops and places to get food. Note that if you're coming on the bus from Fort Kochi, you are able to get off the bus in Anachal before reaching the town of Munnar. The hostel is up a hill from town, but is easy to walk from the center of Anachal.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel has three air conditioned dorms (some six person and some eight person), along with private rooms, all with en suite bathrooms. The bunk beds are basic but comfortable, and each guest is given a blanket as nighttime in the mountains can be a bit chilly. The rooms are kept clean and the beds are high enough to store luggage underneath. There is also an option to sleep in a tent in the outdoor lawn area of the hostel.
The bathrooms are basic but clean. Especially nice with the sometimes-cold mountain weather is the availability of hot water in the shower.
Common Spaces
The hostel has one central common space, which creates a friendly and sociable vibe among guests. There are numerous games available to play and the hostel also gives guests the options of joining the family dinner each night (at a very affordable price). It's a great spot for solo travelers and it's very easy to meet others to arrange group trips. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hostel and there is a nice, large kitchen that can be used by guests.

This hostel is one of the best choices for solo travelers and those looking to meet others, as it has a really nice social, friendly atmosphere. In addition, it is an amazing location with direct access to nature rather than just the busy city. It is easy to reach via bus, and many trips and treks can be arranged with other guests. The hostel allows check-in any time, so you don't need to worry if you arrive into Munnar very late or very early.

• The Lost Hostels, Munnar is located near to the Anachal town of Munnar on a cliff next to Green Spa. You have different options of reaching us.
• - From the Airport:
• The closest Airport to The Lost Hostel, Munnar is Kochi Airport, approx. 110 kilometres from Munnar. From there you can either take a taxi directly to our place for around 4000 Rupees or get an AC Bus to the Bus station in the town of Kochi and take another bus to Kochi to Munnar.
• From Munnar Bus Station:
• Take another local bus from Munnar bus station to Anachal town which will cost Rs 20 or you can take direct tuk tuk which will cost Rs 400 approx. And from Anachal town it will take 5 min walk.
• Landmark is Green Spa in Anachal. No one knows about Lost Hostel yet so better use google map and tell auto driver to take you to Green Spa and when you reach at Green Spa on the main road, you would be able to see our signboard and just follow road from there as you have to hike another 300m to reach hostel as hostel is located on top of a hill.
