Although it is located quite a long walk from the center and all the the historic sights, Forever Young Hostel is a wonderful and incredibly spacious backpackers' abode with great amenities, modern equipment, beautiful decor, and free breakfast.

The Location

Forever Young is located to the east of the city of Huế. It is in a bit of an unusual area, which feels more like a village inside the city. You will be walking next to a river in quite a rundown setting with nothing else around but local houses around. The hostel itself is huge, just like the piece of land on which it stands. Due to its remoteness from the city, it feels safe and it is very quiet as well. However, unless you have your own transportation, it will be quite a walk to all of the sights.

Rooms and Bathrooms

At the time of our stay, the hostel was only recently opened and it is extremely modern, with a lovely minimalist but green decor. It offers rooms of varying sizes, but all of them are comfortable, spacious, and air-conditioned. Inside the dorms, you have bunk beds that come with curtains and reading lamps inside. You will also be able to charge your electronic devices next to your bed. The bathrooms are in a separate area and have a bit of a strange design, but are also spacious and modern. However, what is quite weird as a concept is that the sinks are outside in the courtyard, so if it rains, you might get all wet trying to wash your hands.

Common Spaces

As you step inside the building, you are welcomed by a massive common area that houses the reception, a reading corner, and a very well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Your free breakfast is served here in the mornings, which is a choice amongst a few egg-based dishes. You can also serve yourself to tea and coffee here and there is also a water dispenser to fill up your bottle. The hostel has a huge outdoors area with some comfy wooden furniture in it. There are also some extremely cute kittens running around here, but if you are allergic to cats, you had better avoid this place as they are allowed to enter the building as well.

Summary

Forever Young is a great place if you prefer a cosy but remote place with friendly people and a lot of space for socialisation. However, if you want to cover a lot of attractions in little time, maybe it's better if you look for somewhere else, as this place is quite hard to reach.

• - From the airport: Take the shuttle bus (which costs VND50,000) in front of arrival hall. Tell the driver to stop at Southern Bus Station. From there walk to Tran Thanh Mai Street, then turn left to Alley (Kiet) 106. Or you can take a taxi, which approximately costs VND200,000.
• - From anywhere in the city center: Find your way to Hung Vuong Street (the main street that leads to Truong Tien Bridge). Go along that street in southeast direction. Upon crossing An Cuu Bridge, turn left to Hai Trieu Street then go straight until you see Alley (Kiet) 106.
