Nature Rex is an ideal place if you just want to be away from it all and enjoy a relaxing time surrounded by nature. The hostel places a great emphasis on encouraging their guests to live in harmony with the environment and uses a lot of natural materials in its design. It is not a party hostel, but a super social, cosy hostel. It is so easy to meet fellow travelers.
The Location
You are just a 5 minutes walk from the scret beach "Jungle Beach" away. Here you can come for sunset and enjoy a cold Coconut while watching the surfers.
The hostel is located in the suburbs of Weligama; when getting here, you are better off getting off at the Kumbalgama train station than in Weligama, which means that you are going to be a fair walk away from all that Weligama has to offer. However, the main road is only a five-minute walk away and here you will be able to get tuk-tuks or take the bus. As this area is less touristy, you will find cheaper food stalls and eateries around. Also, in 5 minutes, you can reach a beautiful and less-frequented beach with amazing red rocks and perfect waves for surfing.
We recommend renting a bike here. At Nature Rex Hostel they will help you with the bike rental.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorms here are just great! They are really spacious, with only two bunks with four beds inside. The beds are enormous and comfy, and they come with mosquito nets. We highly recommend choosing a hostel in Sri Lanka with either AC or with a Mosquito net. There is also a desk in the room for those who enjoy doing some writing in the evenings. The rooms are cooled by a fan, which is a welcome facility as it can get really hot during the day. The rooms are en suite and the bathrooms are also really spacious and of a modern design. They have shower gel and shampoo for guests to use. Depending on the deal you get, you might have free breakfast included in your price, but you will definitely get a nice and refreshing milkshake welcome drink or a nice Coconut.
Common Spaces
The hostel offers a big garden area in which to relax. With a bit of luck, you will see monkeys in the trees as well. There is a terrace with some comfy chairs, but best of all, there are three local-style, semi-open wooden huts. Enjoy the shade of some trees in a private location. You are also welcome to chill in the indoor living room. Most people chill at the terrace or in the hut.

Nature Rex is an ideal place for those days when you do not really want to do much besides just enjoying a relaxing time in and around your accommodation. And it's perfect, as you have everything right here -- an extremely comfortable dorm room, plenty of place to relax in the garden, and amazing home-cooked food prepared on the spot.

• From Airport :
• You can come to Weligama by bus, or by train or book a transfer with us ,
• If you come by Bus, then you can get down near the Sangananda college in Weligama (simply ask the bus driver/conductor to drop you in Walliwala Halt).
• If you come by Train, then you would have to walk to the weligama main bus station to catch bus. It is just 2 km from weligama.
• The other option is, that you get down at the main bus station and then take a tuk-tuk to the jungle beach, kalukanda. It will be an amazing experience for you in the tuktuk as well. However the tuktuk shall not cost you more than 500 LKR (Not more than 1 Euro).
• If you are a group of 3-4 people we would be able to pick you up from the bus stand/ train station just in case you find it difficult to navigate around. However, we are listed in Google maps and also you can talk to us regarding any inquiry you have and we would be happy to help you out with anything.
