Hola Hostel Collblanc is a small hostel located in the Collblanc District of Barcelona. It's a little out of the way, but is quiet and peaceful as well as friendly and hospitable. The location is within walking distance to the Estacion Sants, so this might be an excellent hostel to do a layover from the bus station. There is a free breakfast provided every morning between 7 and 9 a.m. The facilities can be used for free up until 11 p.m. the day of check-out.
The Location
The Metro station is located nearby, and there are many shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and clothing stores nearby. There is barely any tourist vibe compared to the other parts of town in Barcelona where many hostels are located. The neighborhood is a bit loud and busy, but inside the hostel it is quiet and calm. The Collblanc neighborhood is far north from the main sightseeing in Barcelona and seems to be a regular place where Spaniards live, as opposed to some more touristic neighborhoods in Barcelona. There are many nice restaurants and bakeries around this neighborhood.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dormitory is quiet and calm, and the cleanliness is acceptable. There is free Wi-Fi provided, and every bed has a locker that can be locked with the room card, as well as a plug and reading light. The linens are fresh and clean. The bathroom and shower room is combined, is located right outside the dormitory and has satisfactory cleanliness. The dormitory can be a bit stuffy, though.
Common Spaces
There is a common area in the front of the hostel with seating, TV, computer free for use, kitchen area, and reception; it's where a free breakfast including coffee, juice, and meat are served. There is a bicycle rental available through the hostel for a daily rental with reasonable prices. There are free tours available daily with the hostel as well. The common area is bright, spacious, and comfortable with nice personal touches and notes from travelers who have stayed here from around the world. There is a washer and dryer available in the hostel for a coin fee.
Summary
Overall, this hostel is recommended. It is a quiet and calm hostel with a friendly and warm vibe; it can be a bit far from the sightseeing, but it's definitely worth staying. It is especially convenient for a layover from the Estacion Sants bus station.
