The hostel is a flat in one of the few old buildings left in the city. Opposite the main (and only?) post office (about 10 min walk down Lenina from the train/bus station). The entrance is tucked away in the backyard exactly in the knee of the ensemble of buildings. The only sign is an H with a roof over it on the steel door. Apartment 15 is on the 3rd floor. As the owner, a charming middle-aged lady with not a word of English (she will talk your head off in Russian though) ,lives off-site, ring the bell at #14 who will telephone for her. (If you don't speak Russian it might be wise to get somebody to ring ahead 1-2 days ahead.) Inside is a flat of approx. 80 m with three bedrooms -- one double, one twin and one 6-bed dorm sharing a spotless fully equipped kitchen, bath with washing machine and separate toilet. WiFi works well. An additional nice touch is the honesty wine rack that is to say a few bottles of local wine or cognac to be paid if drunk. Staying here in off-season (April 2019) I had the whole place for myself. For not using a booking site I received a discount of 15%. A bed in the twin room was 170 Transnistrian Roubles. Summary -- Just like home, anybody on a longer trip might as well stay a couple of extra days to recharge (specially now since the border formalities have been simplified -- just about everybody gets a 7 day permit, no questions asked).
