Hostel One Reviews

Hostel One Madrid is a great place to stay no matter how long you plan to visit Madrid. The hostel is welcoming and friendly and the staff make sure that you have the best time possible while in Madrid. The hostel has great vibes for socialising and thus best suits solo or small-group travelers.

The Location

Hostel One is easy to navigate to from the main train station and also from the bus station. The hostel is located close to the downtown centre and within comfortable walking distance to Madrid’s main attractions.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The hostel rooms vary in size and bed capacity; the six-bed dorm is relatively spacious, has an air conditioning unit, and window for comfort and light. The dorm is made up of three bunk beds, each of which provide the guest with their own powerpoint, light, linen (pillow), and pocket in which to keep your personal things. Each guest also has a locker (padlock provided upon request for a small fee), which is of decent size (a thirty-five-liter backpack can comfortably fit in it). The bathrooms are sufficient and kept tidy; they are cleaned daily and provide guests with good amenities.

Common Spaces

There are two main common spaces in the hostel -- one indoor and one outdoor. These spaces are usually occupied with people mingling and making friends or enjoying the free dinners that the staff cook each night. The indoor common space is also used for dining and has churros and cake for guests each morning (these are baked fresh). The kitchen is close by and easy to access with plenty of utensils for cooking your own meals. There is one fridge for all guests to use. The outdoor area has chairs and tables where guests can eat or play games. The nightly pub crawl usually begins here. There is a BBQ also sometimes used by staff to cook dinner. These spaces are comfortable and kept clean and tidy at all times. They also have charging points for guests to use.

Summary

This hostel is great for solo and group travelers. The nightly included dinners make it a welcoming and friendly place and facilitate guests in making friends. The staff are always available and are there to help or give their knowledge. The Wi-Fi is great and works throughout the whole building.
