Mango's Hostel is a medium-sized hostel close to the city centre in León, and most importantly it has a small clean pool for cooling down in the hot climate. Two friendly cats enjoy the run of the property.
The Location
The hostel is located three blocks from the cathedral and thus the city centre with a walking distance of five minutes. The neighbourhood is quite and feels safe and there is a small corner shop just across the street and a large supermarket two blocks away. Additionally a multitude of museums, churches, restaurants, and bars are just around the corner.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Mango's Hostel offers both private and dorm rooms. The latter have a number of double or triple wooden bunks beds and either en suite or shared bathrooms. The bunk beds are sturdy with comfortable mattresses and clean sheets. Lower bunks have a curtain for privacy and each bunk has electrical outlets and a fan but no light. The dorms are spacious but can get very hot during the day. Medium-sized lockers (bring a padlock) are not in the dorms but in the common area next to the reception.
En suite bathrooms are spacious with space to put your clothes while showering. Shared showers are small and do not have a place to put your clothes. Water pressure in the en suite bathrooms is good, while the shared showers have weak water pressure and no space for clothes. There is only cold water but in the sweltering heat of León, this can be counted as a blessing.
Common Spaces
The hostel has a quiet and relaxed atmosphere and you can easily get to chatting with fellow travelers. There's a book exchange (with lots of English books but no travel guides) and lockers, plus another common room with a hammock and comfy benches, and a dining room with a large kitchen. Furthermore there is a courtyard with plants and a small clean pool, around which dorms and private rooms are arranged. The kitchen is tidy and is equipped with all essentials.

Mango's Hostel is a clean place with an equally clean and inviting pool that's in the perfect location for exploring beautiful León. Additionally there is good Wi-Fi throughout the property and everything you need is within easy walking distance.

Description
Here you will cool off in the pool and meet travelers from all the world over a beer or by our big dinner table. We are not a party hostel, rather a social hostal for adventurers. Although we definitely can give you advice on where to head for a fun night out in Leon, and of course tell you about the different adventure opportunites of Leon.
Within 2-5 minutes from the property you will find supermarket, ATM, bars (including the popular 'La Olla Quemada' with live music and salsa nights), Great cafés, a gym and the heart of the city of León with all that it has to offer. We work with almost all tour operating and transport companies of the cities. By booking with us in the reception they will come pick up up at Mangos to take you for your adventure.
We are in central León - 3 blocks from the Cathedral of León, which is considered the center point of the city. It will take you around 3-5 minutes to walk that distance. The property is on a typical Colonial Style street. You can walk to everything, which means that some of the most renowned attractions of the city are nearby such as Cathedral of Leon, Museo Ruben Darío and Riverside Splash Parque Acuatico, amongst other landmarks of the city.

• From the Airport of Managua by different means of transport:
• Take taxi from airport to “La UCA†in Managua (some 30-40 minutes from the airport). Once at “La UCA†take interlocal bus (around $2) or chicken bus (around $1) to León. Get off the bus in “la terminal†in León. Then, from “la terminal†take taxi (less than $1 per person) to the hostel.
• The addresses in Nicaragua do not recognize avenues or street numbers, please inform the taxi of the exact address of the hostel: Museo Ruben Dario 75 varas al Sur (Important), outside it says: Mango and ring our bell.
• From the Airport of Managua by our shuttle service:
