A stay in Patagonia Adventure Hostel might just prove that there is more to do than just trekking in Torres del Paine National Park (the main reason for people to visit Puerto Natales). Not only does the hostel provide great accommodation, but they also organize their own tours and activities.

The Location

Patagonia Adventure Hostel can be found in the city center, very close to the main street. The location could not be better. It is close to tour agencies, bus agencies, supermarket, outdoor sports stores, and the like. The bus terminal, however, is a fifteen-minute walk.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The hostel has two dormitories and several private rooms. The dorms contain bunk beds and they are not very spacious. Moreover, people's luggage takes up most of the free space, as there are no lockers provided in the room or in any other part of the hostel. There is a special storage room, but it is mainly to be used by people doing the multiple day hike.

Due to the small size of the dorm room, the bunk beds aren't very high either. The person in the top bunk can barely sit up straight, but that is impossible to do for the person in the bottom bed. Also, the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the washing machine and the dryer working, and other people talking.

The single sex bathrooms are not very big, but they are clean and function properly. The downside to the showers is that the area to undress is shared and the door gives out on the hall, so people can just barge in. Even though it will only be a person of the same sex, you don't have much privacy there.

Common Spaces

The kitchen is well equipped and it is a pleasure to cook here. Next to that area, is a common room that in the evening serves as a bar, but during the day as a dining room. Every morning, a free breakfast can be enjoyed in there as well. It is quite big so there is enough room for everyone. Next to the reception and on the first floor, there are areas with couches and a PC. Outside, there is a small garden with a washing line.

Summary

Despite some minor issues, Patagonia Adventure Hostel is truly a great place to stay. It is one of those places where you immediately feel at home, thanks to the cosy environment and friendly staff.
