Selina Red Frog is one of the few accomodations available in Isla Bastimento, right above the very famous Red Frog Beach. Selina is a hostel chain very strong in Panama and all around Central and South America, and many customers that like one branch keep visiting the others, so it is very famous among travelers and it is usually busy.
The Location
Located in Isla Bastimento right above Red Frog Beach, it's a ten-minute boat ride from the main Isla Colon. Customers need to travel to Isla Colon first by boat or plane and then take a water taxi to Isla Bastimento. From the dock there is a fifteen-minute walk to the hostel. The island is isolated and there is not much around. No shops, restaurants, or bars, but everything can be found at the hostel. From the hostel to the beach is a fifteen-minute walk and Selina has a little bar on the beach with hammocks, sofas, and chairs and a volleyball court.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There are both dorms and private rooms available. Dorms have bunk beds and different number of beds (the ones with more beds are the cheaper option). Mattresses are new and comfortable and plugs and a reading light are available for each bed. There are lockers available but you need to bring your own padlock. Bathrooms are shared by one or two rooms together and toilets and showers are separated. Hot water in the shower is available. Soap is also available but not shampoo. Cleanliness is taken seriously and both rooms and bathroom are always in a great condition.
Common Spaces
There is a small swimming pool and a bar with sofas, tables, and chairs. There is also an area where the party happens at night time and a foosball table free of use for guests. Free drinkable water is provided to guests. There is an area where it is possible to do some workout, a movie room, and a kitchen that guests can use for free.
It is not a party hostel, but more a place where people relax for a few days and stay at the beach. It is still a social area as in the evening everybody goes to the bar to enjoy the happy hour and it is easy to meet people. During the day, customers are usually at the bar that Selina has at the beach.
Summary
It is a great place to relax and make new friends, but not suitable to those keen to have have parties. It is possible to do some activities on the beach and play volleyball at the bar that Selina owns on the beach.

• Just grab our water taxi from our deck in Selina Hostel Bocas del Toro in Isla Colon. The jellyfish will welcome you by surrounding your boat as you arrive at the dock and step out onto the path to your destination - you've just arrived. As you begin your walk around the mangrove swamp you're quickly transported into a true, tropical rainforest with each step. You’ll hear the frogs, birds and waves and after a quick 15 minute hike you’ll find your resting spot.
• Selina Red Frog is a remote island location so the transport to Isla Colon is limited specially during night time. We provide a shuttle service in limited hours.
