Ho36 Hostels is co-located with a bar, which is located at ground level (along with some of the hostel spaces); the remainder of the building is the hostel. There are sixty-eight beds available across varying types and sizes of rooms. There are both private and dorm room and available for guests. The hostel offers a (somewhat overpriced) breakfast for those who are staying and a complimentary drink with your booking.
The Location
This hostel is located a reasonable walk (less than twenty minutes) from the main train and bus station. It is easily reached by car also, but there is no guarantee for a parking place. In terms of the city itself, Ho36 Hostels is well located only a short walk from the typical meeting place of the main square, and is central to Lyon’s main attractions.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel dorm rooms are accessed by a waterproof key wristband. The hostel rooms are bright and generally clean. Each guest is provided with linen/pillow, and a locker (no padlock provided). Each bed has a personal light, power points, small shelf, and USB points. The comfortable and spacious rooms have windows and are well ventilated.
The hallways are dark and dingy feeling, with walls that are painted black, which does not help. The bathrooms are also quite tight and have a dingy feel to them. The showers have curtains (not screens), with shower gel and a basin with mirror. There are bath mats provided also.
Common Spaces
There are limited common spaces for guests; as the hostel is joined with the ground level bar, guests may be expected to linger in this area. Otherwise, there is a kitchen out the back (microwave, kettle, and sink, plus fridge space), and small table where four people can sit; this space is neither very welcoming nor comfortable.
There is a dark couch space with sink also for guests to use, but is rarely used due to the unwelcoming vibe it gives.
Summary
This hostel is suitable for those wishing to make a quick visit to Lyon and not spend a lot of time at the hostel. It is also suitable for those who’d rather eat out instead of cook for themselves in the hostel. The adjoining bar has a good vibe if guests would prefer to hang out there.

• From Bellecour square place, ho36 is 15 minutes away by foot.
• Cross Pont de la guilloti�re and you are on your way to ho36. Continue walking after the bridge until rue de Marseille. Turn right at the first crossroad and turn left into rue de Montesquieu.
