Lemon Tree Hostel is a lovely little hostel operated out of someone's apartment in a great neighborhood just a stone's throw away from the center. The building is modern and stylish with a fast lift. The apartment itself is on the higher end and very comfortable.
Reception does not technically operate twenty-four/seven, but since it is a home they live on premises and are available if there is an issue. Towels, breakfast, espresso drinks, and laundry (no dryer) are all available for an additional fee.
The Location
Lemon Tree Hostel is located in a bright, clean building near the university and a large, immaculate park. There is a big supermarket around the corner that is open late. The hostel is near several cute coffee shops and restaurants and a huge, beautiful library. It is a ten-minute walk to the center, so it is a good place for those who want to explore Krakow a bit more. It is very close to a very cool village/venue called "Tytano" that opened within the last few years. There is a school nearby as well, which means there are lots of students around. It's a lively, safe, cool location.
The host makes you feel at home. They accept credit card payment but much prefer cash (even deferring payment if you can get cash). Towels, breakfast, espresso drinks, and laundry are all available for an extra fee. Tea and coffee are complimentary. There is no deposit required for keys. They use a keycode and a scan card, and the only key is for your locker.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Dorms are separated into male and female dorms. The hostel has one full bathroom (with a jacuzzi tub, not that anyone uses it as such), and bidet, plus one WC with sink inside. Both are modern and clean and very nice.
Dorm bunks each have lamps, with curtains on the bottom bunks for privacy. There are plenty of power outlets for your things. There is a desk in the dorm room, a small side table, and lockers for each bunk with lock.
Common Spaces
There's just one kitchen, but there is a large dining table in the middle of it and it is a very cozy place. It is a little cluttered but really feels like an inviting family home.
Summary
Overall, this is a very cute, cozy, homey hostel. Lemon Tree is run by a Ukrainian family, so the place is super inviting and warm and cozy. The dorm is bright and warm and inviting with great natural lighting. The bathrooms are beautiful. The building is nice and modern and beautiful. There is a lift! Wi-Fi is quite good. And the location is really, really great.
