Clock Inn Dehiwala is located in Dehiwala, a suburb of Colombo. It is also the sister hostel of Clock Inn Colombo. With seventy-six beds, this modern hostel is one of the biggest hostels in Sri Lanka. It has reliable Wi-Fi and a friendly atmosphere with a few communal areas.
The Location
The only downside of the hostel is that it's located in Dehiwala. Although Dehiwala isn't too far from the city center of Colombo, during the peak hours, it takes about one hour to reach Dehiwala. The area is also far from the major tourist attractions. However, tuk tuks and taxis only cost a few dollars. There are many cheap eateries and restaurants close to the hostel, which is perfect for budget travelers.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Clock Inn Dehiwala has both dormitories and private rooms. Dormitories have four to twelve beds. There's also a female dorm room with four bunk beds, which feels a little cramped. All the mixed dormitories are very spacious. All rooms have air conditioners operating throughout the day, making for a pleasant stay. There is also a female-only washroom and one communal washroom with shower cubicles and a few Western-style toilets.
The rooms and washrooms are kept clean and dry. Linen and towels are provided free of charge. Each dorm bed has its own individual power point and bed lamp. Guests also receive their individual locker. Private rooms are located on the ground floor and have en suite bathrooms.
Common Spaces
The kitchen space located downstairs is beautifully furnished and well-maintained. Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served at the dining area adjoining the kitchen. The dining room opens up to a beautiful courtyard with houseplants and a few tables. Reception is air conditioned and located on the ground floor. Guests can enjoy the television with both local and foreign channels on the first floor where the dorm rooms are located. There's also a rooftop offering sea views, which makes it the perfect place to end the day with a sundowner drink.
Summary
While the hostel is comfortable and offers everything a budget traveler needs, it is far away from the city center. However, If you plan on spending a few weeks in Colombo using public transport, Clock Inn Dehiwala can be a perfect home base. This modern backpacker hostel in Colombo is also well occupied with friendly, welcoming staff.

Location and Contact
Location
• Clock Inn Dehiwala provides an Airport Pickup service for $25. Please write to the hosetl for more details.
• If you are arriving to Colombo Fort by train from the airport, you can hop on to another train from the same station that will take you to 'Station Road, Dehiwala'. Clock Inn Dehiwala is a 10-minute walk away from the train station.
• If you are travelling to Colombo from the south beach coast, the train will stop at the 'Station Road, Dehiwala' station. You can simply get off there instead of going all the way to the Colombo Fort and take a 10-minute walk to Clock Inn Dehiwala.
• Alternatively, there are plenty of buses to and from Colombo. The bus station is a 5-minute walk away from Clock Inn Dehiwala on the Galle Road.
