Lenin Street Hostel offers a very different hostel experience, one you will not find anywhere else! This is by far one of the most unique hostels going; as a foreigner, if you have ever wanted to feel like you are living in the USSR, this is the place, with strict instructions, tight rules, and heavily enforced fines if you do not follow said instructions. Just make sure you read that welcome email thoroughly! There are charges for almost any change -- if you arrive early, if you arrive late, if you want to check out before 11 a.m., or store your bags, you must pay! And the owner requests you update him constantly of your arrival time, but this is made quite difficult if you do not have a working phone.
The Location
The hostel is in a good location within walking distance to everything in Tiraspol, however with the size of the town you can walk everywhere. It's around ten minutes' walk from the main train station. The entrance can be difficult to find, as it is located at the rear of a building facing into a courtyard, but you do receive strict instructions on how to arrive there. You will find a lot of restaurants, supermarkets, and exchange places to get that Transnistrian ruble sorted.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel is only comprised of two rooms -- a dorm and a private room, for eight beds in total. The rooms are spacious and warm. There is only one shower and toilet, but that is fine for the amount of people. The beds are comfortable and the linen is fresh.
Common Spaces
The dorm room is spacious enough and has a couch to allow for hanging out; there is also a kitchen with a table and seats. The strangest thing about this hostel is that you are there on your own; the owner will let you in, but that is it (he is, however, helpful and available anytime on Whatsapp -- he will share a document with you of anything you might need to know).
Summary
Tiraspol is a unique experience on its own this hostel simply adds to the experience. The owner is overly willing to help, but you must make sure you read the email you will receive once you book. There are very strict instructions that need to be followed. The hostel is clean and in a nice, quiet area -- although most of Transnistria is that way! And all in all, this is a unique and cool experience!

Location
• If you travel by bus or train from Chisinau or Odessa you will arrive to the central Train station on Str.Lenina. You can walk down the street for 10 minutes and reach the building N28 near supermarket Stolichnii or Dik. You can also take a Taxi, it will cost you about 20 Rubbles (1,5 EUR or 1,9 USD)
• How long can I stay?
• Ones arrive at the checkpoint, please find migration office and make your registration. ASK YOUR DRIVER TO STOP AND LET YOU DO THE REGISTRATION! You can be given up to 10 hours of permission to stay in Transnistria. If you want to stay longer you need to have an address where you intend to stay. The migration officer will give you 24 hrs written permission to stay. With migration card issued at the border you need to visit the migration office and prolong your stay for more then 24 hrs. Please remember NOT TO WEAR SHORTS while visiting migration office to prolong your stay in Transnistria. This procedure must be done with the owner of the Hostelappartment (me). It is important to remember, that all registration formalities are FREE.
• What if I arrrive by train?
• Ones arrived in Tiraspol train station please find the migration office inside of the station and make your registration. There are the same rulesprocedures as described above in (How long I can stay).
• What if I arrive by car?
• Do you really want to drive your horse powered transportation to Transnistria? If so bare in mind these:
• * you will need to pay 5 EUR Road Tax and 0,18% from the car value.
• * you need to make separate registration for your car at the border (temporary importation).
• * all payments can be done only in cash in Moldovan lei, Transnistrian rubles, US dollars, Euros and Ukrainian grivnas.
• * custom form will be in English language.
