Republica Hostel Cabin Beds, Bogotá

The luxurious, stylish, modern Republica Hostel Bogota is located on a quiet street in the very nice area of Chapinero. It is famous for its diversity of restaurants, bars, and clubs, close to Zona T. It is a lovely neighborhood to live in and go out at night.

The Location

From the airport, you can take a taxi or take advantage of the hostel's airport pick-up, which is very handy. If you want to use public transportation, there is also a Transmilenio Station close by, which is called "Flores.“ From there, you can go anywhere in town, including Old Town, which is about ten kilometers away. Parking is possible on the street, but it is always recommended to do secured parking in Bogotá.

Food-wise you will find many great places nearby for a good price.

Rooms and Bathrooms

This brand-new hostel offers four-, six-, and eight-bed dorms, as well as double rooms with private bathrooms. Everything is in very good condition, and the beds are super comfortable. Next to every bed is a little light for each guest. There are medium-sized lockers in the rooms.

The bathrooms are very stylish and well designed. Hot showers and soap are available. At the check-in, you will also get a towel.

Common Spaces

The hostel has amazing common spaces. A highlight is the huge terrace with many tables, chairs, and comfortable sofas where you can hang out. Real flowers and plants give the terrace a lovely atmosphere for chatting and relaxing. The bars next to the terrace offer a range of drinks at fair prices. Republica also has a wonderful outdoor area in the front yard.

In the living room in the entry area are comfy couches and flyers advertising restaurants. The hostel also has a book with activities listed -- you can ask the friendly staff for more information. Upstairs is a new computer to go online. The WiFi however is very reliable and fast.

Another highlight is the daily breakfast, from where you can choose two options. It could be arepa (a type of corn dough) and eggs and fruits or cereals, for example, which you can eat on the sun terrace or at the bar area.

Summary

It is a modern, stylish, and luxurious hostel in a lovely area of Chapinero. It is a social and chilled-out hostel and it is not a party hostel. That being said, there is plenty of activities you can join so you can easily go out and party in the clubs and bars with your fellow hostel mates. The only downside might be that there is no common kitchen yet. Yet, with the cheap restaurants nearby, this is not an issue really. Wi-Fi works fantastic and laundry service is also offered. A fantastic hostel in Bogotá!
