Cinnamon Guest House Dogo, Matsuyama

Cinnamon Guest House Dogo is a large and modern hostel. Staff are friendly and can speak a good amount of English. They're knowledgeable in assisting with travel and activities to do around Matsuyama, as well as helping with other travels in Japan. International travelers seem to enjoy staying at this hostel, while there aren't as many local travelers that frequent this hostel.

The Location

In Matsuyama, there are two prime tourist locations; one around Okaida, the shopping promenade, and the other is around the Dogo Onsen. It's about two kilometers between the two tourist locations and they can easily be accessed by the city's public tram service.

Cinnamon Guest House Dogo is situated in a really convenient location, right beside the Dogo Onsen (it's about two hundred meters away). To get to the closest tram station -- Dogo Onsen Station -- is only about three hundred fifty meters away, and from there, travelers can access the rest of the city. It's also only steps away from the souvenir promenade in the area, where many convenience stores are situated.

Rooms and Bathrooms

Both rooms and bathrooms are clean and modern. Beds here have a really private and individual feel, even if there are six or seven sets of bunk beds in each room. They're all separated with curtains in the front and wooden panels on the side, kind of evoking a bit of a capsule-hotel feel. Each bed comes with a set of power plugs, a personal light, and a little locker to store valuables.

Bathrooms are shared between men and women. They're separated into shower and toilet stalls, with sinks on the outside. Even though the facilities are all separated in the hopes of reducing potential waiting time, there can still be a line to use the showers during high-traffic times.

Common Spaces

On the main floor by the reception is a lovely and comfortable lounge area. There are several tables available, as well as a small microwave and electric teapot for guests to use. While there is a social vibe at this hostel, it is still a quiet atmosphere. Don't expect any big parties here!
