The Waterfall Hostel is one of the most famous hostels in Panama and has just reopened. New linen, new Mattresses and heaps of facilities to enjoy.
We have two of the largest swimming pools of any hostel in Panama, plus the natural waterfall fed by clean clear mountain water.

Highly recommended.
I have stayed here before on a number of occasions, on my own and with my young daughter; this time I booked ahead through booking.com because its summer season at the moment and I didn’t want to miss getting a room. Peter Lewis, the owner, has created a lovely place to stay and works very hard to maintain the large garden and buildings with support from his small team of friendly staff. Peter genuinely cares that his guests are happy and well looked-after, and he has a real passion for caring for the environment. The Waterfall Hostel is set in 4 acres (2 hectares) of beautiful gardens full of a wonderful variety of flora and fauna, great for nature lovers. There are large lawns and mature wooded areas; if you look around you will see a super variety of birds and butterflies, iguanas, Jesus lizards running across the water, and if you are lucky and keen eyed you may spot one of the sleuths that live there. There are many different kinds of flowering and fruiting trees, and plants of all types. There are 2 swimming pools which are filled with clean water from the river which borders the property; the pools are emptied, cleaned and re-filled every week. There are floats etc in the pools for guests to use. Along the river there are pretty spots where you can have a dip in the water too. The waterfall on the property is the best I have visited in Central America; it’s a large waterfall surrounded by mature trees, the large pool beneath gets lots of sunlight down onto it, crystal clear and deep enough to swim and dive in. Starting my day with a refreshing swim in the waterfall is the highlight for me....and it’s FREE entry for everyone staying there. The hostel is the perfect place to stay if you are traveling through David and/or visiting Boquete; both towns are just short distances away via bus, and the nearest bus stop is right at the entrance to the hostel. Buses are very cheap and very regular. It’s also easy to get to David Airport from the hostel via bus.
Nothing bad to say.
