Prompt and Friendly hostess (Gloria). 7 min. from skiing -- Yippee! What a view from both sides of the valley. Take the time to Google Map. The view is peaceful with the moon rising. I was able to get to Ski Wentworth (2011 Canada Games-Freestyle) in less than 15 minutes. I was parked and ready for the chairlift. PERFECT!

Quiet, beautiful location
I suppose during the peak of fall color, this place would have been breathtaking, it is very quiet and the location is unreal, the direction to the place is super (or you will never find it). the host is nice, the shower was very small, I suppose if someone is a bit overweight, she/he will not be able to get into it and shower. I had the best sleep there. I had no idea the house was haunted until I read it in the guest book.
Quiet and nice location.
I was in this hostel in the beginning of August and was surprised that there was only one other guest. The hostel is however in winter fully booked. The owners of the hostel are really friendly and willing to help you with everything, the place is clean and nice. However it is in the middle of nowhere, nearest convenience store is eight kilometers away. But I was looking for a quiet place for a good night sleep and this hostel was the perfect pick for that. At the back of the door there are many hiking trails and in winter they rent out the shoes to make hikes in the snow.
Wentworth International Hostel is nestled in the Cobequid Mountain. Mostly used in winter times since there are ski hills nearby (hostel offers skies and snowshoes for rent), is it a good place in summer as well to go out for hiking. Built in 1954, it was the first hostel in Nova Scotia and still is a very cozy place that sleeps in twenty-two people. The Location The hostel is situated within the Wentworth Provincial Park next to Route 4. Take the Valley Road, then turn left on Wentworth Station Road (gravel road). It is not easy to get to the hostel with public transportation, so call the hostel and they will explain what to do and where to get of the bus. If you want to enjoy the countryside this is the place to be. You can go out for hiking, mountain biking, or skiing. At the backdoor of the hostel you are on a network of trails. But be aware that there are no bars, restaurants, or clubs nearby. There is a gas station and a grocery store about seven kilometers away, so take care that you do your shopping before you come. Rooms and Bathrooms The dorms are situated on the first floor and have lots of space. There are free linens, sheets, and towels. There is a washroom for the boys and one for the girls which are on the first floor as well. Sometimes you have to wait for the toilet since the toilet and the shower are in the same room. The rooms, the kitchen, and the bathrooms are all very clean and tidy. Security seems to be good with a locking front door at night but there are no locks for the rooms. Since it is in the countryside we didn't feel that our belongings were unsafe. Common Spaces The common spaces are all at ground level. There is a really comfy common area with a couch, chairs, tables, and plug-in fireplace. If you like to listen to music, there is an old record player with lots of records, but they do have a radio as well. There are plenty of free games and a bookshelf for stormy days or evenings. The kitchen is well equipped but there is no free breakfast in the morning. There is an extra dining room and you can use the computer or the wireless for free. The outside area in front of the hostel contains a BBQ, a fire pit, camping facilities, and lots of free parking spaces. Summary This hostel is a very good place to have a rest and enjoy the nature. For outdoor fans is this the place to be, but people who love to go out at night should stay at another place. It is very clean and comfy, groups are welcome, and campers who want to spend the evening on the couch can build up their tents right next to the house.

Very comfortable and relaxing. Very friendly staff and a must to visit!!
If you are looking for a quiet place in the country, this is it. Cool old house with lots of character and yes, supposedly a resident ghost, but don't let that scare you away. There are some great hiking trails right outside the front door.

This hostel is supposedly haunted; it used to be an old farm house.
