Very good but could improve
As previously stated the linen charge per night is a Rip-Off, they only wash them once, bring a sleeping bag, the drying room needs improving, with a bit of time & a few quid it could be much much better, the weather forecasts MWIS were always a day behind. Generally though good. (21, 22, 23 July.)

Excellent bunkhouse let down by charge for bedding at 4£ per night per person, not as a one off. But for each night you stay using same stuff. Also you should be aware that when we visited there was one excellent toilet room for all, but with good facilities. 3 showers and two toilets. Didn't bother our mixed company. Might be a problem in some.

Excellent value for money & very clean.
Stayed here for three nights whilst walking in Cullins. The bunk house is very well maintained and equipped with all you need, we cooked our evening meals here and found all we needed. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable about local area and keep the place very clean and tidy. Open fire with free coal a nice touch. Would highly recommend.

Yes, it appears a little upmarket for backpackers, but Sligachan Bunkhouse actually does have some shared accommodation options in their bunkhouses. They also offering camping, or you can stay in hotel rooms. The Location The bunkhouses are located a few hundred metres away from the hotel. Bring a torch if you plan to walk between the hotel and the bunkhouse after dark. Sligachan itself enjoys a rather dramatic setting in a remote part of central Skye by the fabulous Cuillin Hills. It's a sort of classic hotel-on-the-moor type place with a few characters on the local staff. Mountaineers, walkers, and those who enjoy a good pint of wild and wonderful Scottish scenery have been coming here for years. Rooms and Bathrooms The bunkhouse is completely self-catering with a number of dorm rooms and several shared bathrooms. Common Spaces The bunkhouse is quite separate from the action going over at the hotel and most people seem to tramp over to the pub and restaurant to spend the evening. There are some private lounges in the bunkhouse. At the Sligachan Hotel there's a private bar if you fancy a quieter nip or two -- you can also access free Wi-Fi here. Or you can head to the noisier pub and restaurant for meals. There's also a brewery. You will also have access to a spacious kitchen. Summary There are a number of peaks to climb here, including 12 Munros, but you definitely need a guide to do any of these or take the low-level route through the valley instead to Loch Coruisk. Make sure you bring some protection against the annoying biting midges if you stay at Sligachan.
its great, we rented out the whole bunkhouse, which has two bathrooms and good sized living areas. Its in a great location up the road from a pub and a campsite with easy access to walking. There is a washing machine and dryer which costs but came in handy and good facilities in the kitchen -- microwave, two toasters, two ovens, enormous fridge, lots of cutlery.
Great set up if you're with a group and want to do walking (right across the stream from Sligachan hotel/bar). It's like a wee cottage with a few rooms of bunks, two central lounges (with wood provided) and a fantastic kitchen. The only downside was metered heating - we were on a zero budget so nearly froze to death (until another group arrived and started putting money in!) Oh, and linen is extra :( but otherwise great.
