perfect location, super friendly stuff, welcome drink, clean, amazing
Recommend totally- cosy, amazing stuff, good coffe, pleasant music, cool atmosphere!
The White Tree manages to walk the very fine line between being a fun party hostel with lots of life and long nights, while also being welcoming and inviting to guests who prefer quieter and cozier accommodation choices. The staff are welcoming and friendly and able to give travelers hints and tips on things to do and see in Pristina. An early warning -- the hostel is located next to a club that runs three nights a week, sound proofing doesn't exist, and the music cranks until later in the morning. Bring ear plugs or consider other accommodation choices.
The Location
The hostel is located within an easy walking distance to all the major sights and attractions of Pristina as the hostel is within sight of the bell tower, which acts the central reference point of Pristine. Just down the road, there is a large street that contains all the necessities with fast food shops, cafes, and grocery stores. The bus station is a twenty-minute walk away from the hostel and is fairly easy to get to, but taxis are cheap enough for that to be an option too.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Dorm rooms are available for either four or six people, or twelve or fourteen people. Dorms do not have locks on the doors but they have in-room lockers for storage of valuables. Dorm rooms are very spacious and have their own couches and tables with chairs. This is handy, as it gives less-social guests somewhere to relax when club nights are happening. Rooms also have heating.
Dorms have their own bathrooms/showers, but there is also a shower/bathroom available for anyone's use. Showers are pretty old but are kept decently clean, and are spacious with hooks and spaces for storing clothing and toiletries.
Common Spaces
This hostel has a lot of common spaces with a central room with a dining room and comfortable television room. There are also ample outdoor sitting areas with an upstairs terrace for guests on the upper levels and a cafe-esque area surrounding the bar/cafe. There is a second, undercover couched area behind the cafe that is very comfortable and relaxing place to hang out. The wealth of common areas makes White Tree a fun and social place to meet other travelers. There is also a club (Creme de la Creme) next door that runs Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night.
Summary
This is a very funky and fun hostel that also manages to be welcoming and inviting. You don't have to be a party animal to stay here, but it helps. The neighboring nightclub is an irritant if you come unprepared, but overall this is a nice hostel with a good location.
Surprisingly well!
This was a great experience for me. We had very low expectations about Pristina but since we arrived at the bus station the things started to change. When we arrived at The White Tree we knew we decided right.
The hostel is great. The rooms are well equipped, the place has a fully equipped kitchen, you can use a lot of facilities and then there is the terrace! The best terrace I've ever seen!
Overall I would recommend this place.
