Bella's Backpackers is a clean hostel in San Ignacio and a perfect place to chill and explore this place. This hostel is half-treehouse, as there is a large tree growing in the centre and the building wraps around it with nice views from the top floors.
The Location
The hostel is located about five minutes' walking distance from the “town” centre on a small side street in a residential neighbourhood. There is a small supermarket two minutes away and plenty of shops and restaurants in the “town” centre.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The main dorm room consists of a series of interconnected rooms with two en suite bathrooms. There are smaller dorm rooms as well as private rooms available at the property. The dorms have wooden bunk beds as well as single beds. The beds are sturdy and comfortable and there are small lockers (bring a lock) inside the dorms. There are some electrical outlets strewn across the property. The bathrooms have only cold water with good water pressure. There is not a lot of space to put your clothes while taking a shower. The dorms are not air conditioned but there are some fans around for use. There is mosquito netting on some windows, and thus bug repellent is a must.
Common Spaces
There are plenty of common spaces around the hostel. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a place to eat on the first floor as well as couches to hang out on the first and second floor. Furthermore, there are hammocks strung up on the third floor with a nice view over San Ignacio. There is a distinct treehouse atmosphere about the place and all common areas are to some extent exposed to the elements.
There are some books strewn around the hostel and the Wi-Fi works well throughout the place. This is a social hostel and you can easily chat with other travelers. Furthermore, the hostel staff are very social and always happy to help with information and excursion planning.
Summary
Bella's Backpackers is a nice place to stay a couple of days and take in San Ignacio. The “town” itself is the jumping off point for lots of excursions such as the ATM caves, and the “Green Iguana Conservation Project” is well worth a visit.

• We are located in the heart of downtown San Ignacio just two blocks up from the bus terminal. Go up Bullet Tree Road past Burns Avenue and when you see Quicks Barber shop take a right onto Galvez Street, We are the large yellow building on the right hand side. Ring the bell on the wrought iron gate.
