If you're looking for a hip hostel located right next to Gdańsk's Motława River, Grand Hostel Gdansk is the place to be. It offers comfortable rooms with great views and an overall easygoing vibe.
The Location
The location of Grand Hostel is fantastic and has to be one of the best locations of any hostel in Gdańsk. It's located right on the Motława, on the second floor of an attractive Polish building. You'll hear sounds of the busy, river-sided streets below and music flowing in through the windows from the artists down by the river.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm rooms at Grand Hostel are comfortable and clean with plenty of space to stretch out. Each bed has a light and an outlet and you can rent a locker key from the front desk for a deposit. The rooms have windows that look out over the river, which is a beautiful sight to wake up to. However, because of the many windows in the dorm rooms, the rooms get very hot in the summer months. The dorm mattresses are comfortable and so are the pillows and sheets. Each dorm also has a bed that seems to have been transformed into a couch to lounge on if you want to keep your bed free.
The bathrooms are attractive and clean with plenty of hot water. You can rent a towel from the front desk, but they are not provided.
Common Spaces
The main common space at the hostel is located in the basement, where there are two couches, a TV, and the kitchen, as well as a large kitchen table. This common space won't win any design awards, but it does the trick. The Wi-Fi is the best in the basement, so you may find yourself down there if you need to get some work done, or if you're hungry and need to prepare a meal. The kitchen is well stocked and located in the basement of the hostel.
The vibe at Grand is relaxed, but it also seems like it would be a good space to meet people in the busier months.
The Wi-Fi signal at Grand is not amazing, as they have numerous networks for the dorms and common spaces, but seem to lack the power to stretch the signal to the far corners of the hostel.

Location
• From Gdansk Main Railway Station: (7 min stroll)
• Exit the building and turn right go straight ahead (Waly Jagiellonskie street) and turn left on the big crossing (Targ Drzewny street). Go straight ahead to the Swietego Ducha street and when you pass Hotel Wolne Miasto on your right hand, turn right. Grand Hostel is right there.

• Call a Taxi (app. 50-60 pln) or take a bus no. 210, direction 'Goscinna' and get off on the 'Brama Wyzynna Stop'
