Hostal Erupcion, Baños

Hostal Erupcion has a nice, homey environment that is chilled out and relaxed.

The Location

Hostal Erupcion is located in the main town centre of Baños, only a five- to ten-minute walk away from the main bus terminal. You will find everything that you need within close proximity to the hostel, including restaurants and cafes, pharmacies, small fruit and vegetable stores, tour operators, and souvenir shops.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms are on the second and third floors of the hostel. The rooms here are nicely decorated, and each bed comes with a very large allocated locker in which you can securely stow your things. The beds are fairly warm, even though sometimes at night the rooms can get a little cold. They have harder mattresses but they are quite comfortable.

The bathrooms are en suite off the dorm room and have awesome hot water and pressure. You also get a complimentary towel and a little soap sachet to use. The bathrooms are kept in a well-cleaned condition. If there is someone in the bathroom and you need a toilet, there are extra toilets on the first floor in the main common area.

Common Spaces

The main common area here in the hostel is on the first floor, where they have the restaurant. People hang out here on the tables and chairs and you can order good food for a decent price (with a discount if you are a guest). Even if you are not eating, you can still hang out here and meet people; it is where most of the guests congregate during the evenings.

There is a kitchen that you can use as well, but it is shared with the restaurant staff and only available at certain times of the day. It is a large industrial kitchen that is fully equipped; the only issue is trying to use it during peak feeding hours, as it can get a little busy and cramped.

Summary

This is a really friendly and social hostel. They can help you with organising tours around the town for anything that you want to do during your stay in Baños for a competitive price. Most of the time it is cheaper to book through the hostel than it is with people on the street, unless you are a solid haggler.
