Mama's Home is an absolutely unreal place to meet new people and experience Tulum, and it's worth the visit just for the free breakfasts.
The Location
Located in the centre of town just a block or two from the main square, this hostel is very convenient to reach from the ADO bus terminal or the collectivo stop. You are around three blocks away and it can be reached in around a five-minute walk, but it also off the main road so you do not get the noise from the road. You have a couple of small shops across the road and all the tacos you can dream of just a couple of streets away. If you are looking to visit the cenotes you can hire a bike nearby and ride there in around twenty minutes, you can also reach the beach in the same amount of time heading the other direction.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There are a few dorms and some private rooms, making for the perfectly sized hostel. The dorms are spacious enough and have air conditioning, however the eight-bed dorm is quite large and has another couple of dorms off it, meaning people will be walking through quite often, which significantly impacts the effects of the air conditioning, and although it is on all day long it never seems to cool down as much as the other dorms, so you may be better of securing yourself a six-bed dorm in this Tulum heat.
Common Spaces
This hostel is the perfect social environment for any backpackers especially those going solo. They have a fully kitted-out kitchen, so you can cook up your own meals, and the breakfasts are the best of any hostel -- that's for sure -- as they're gourmet style and change every day. There is a dining room section to hang out under the fan during the day, and a large outdoor table to accommodate the entire hostel. They have friendly volunteers that arrange nightly activities to get everyone involved, but also quiet time starts at 11 p.m., so there is no problem if you choose to stay in and sleep.

• Cancun Airport:
• By car:
• Take the 307 highway to Chetumal and after 100km you will be in a town named Tulum. You will see the archaeological area on your left and Tulum is just 3 km after it.
• Once you get to town, take the first block on your left, then go three block down and turn right, continue and after 3 blocks turn right again and we are on the right hand side.
• By Bus:
• Take an ADO bus from the Cancun Airport to Tulum. This bus is direct (around 2 hours) and is the cheapest option.
• When you come out of the ADO bus station in Tulum, cross to the other side and go left. You will pass by a square with a big Mexican flag on your right. Continue straight and after two blocks, turn right at the farmacy, continue walking two and a half blocks and we are on the left hand side.
