Nice guys, but ....
Although the guy who walked me in was nice. He's the only one who handles pretty much everything. So when it gets too crowded, always, the cleaning goes on hold and the whispered pasta deal, the real reason why I have booked Dreaming Hostel turned out to be competing with my dog food.
All in all I'd stay again, but sure not at this price.
Worthy of its Reputation
Liked -- nice neighborhood, near lots of places to eat and buy groceries, friendly owners, free breakfasts and (often) dinners, small, quiet at night, phenomenal Wi-Fi, decent kitchen and luggage lockers, an elevator, very close to a subway stop (and fairly close to the main train station and major tourist sites). Disliked -- one of the toilets was falling apart, the kitchen was a little cramped. Overall, these owners care a lot about the quality of one's stay, and they understand what travelers look for in a hostel. I highly recommend Dreaming Rome Hostel and would definitely stay here again. (Other travelers also seemed to like it, too.)
Home away from home
This was my third time staying at Dreaming Rome hostel, and when in Rome I will always want to stay there. the hostel is located in a very nice residential area, in a private building witch makes for a very authentic experience. it has bus and metro stop very close, as well as supermarkets, and it's even in a reasonable walking distance from the colosseum. The hostel is very comfortable, nicely decorated, clean, with a well equipped kitchen and a very good breakfast. As if this isn't enough, you will be received by the nicest people that you can meet, Fabio, Domenico, and their Mamma will go out of their way to make you feel at home and make you comfortable, they will give you all the tips and Fabio even takes his guests out and makes dinner every other night with delicious pasta or pizza. Even being small it's a very social hostel, you will be able to meet and socialize with other travelers and make friends, it's like sharing a flat with friends, witch is amazing when you're a female solo traveler, it will make your visit to Rome even more unforgettable and very very enjoyable! I know it has for me.
All the comforts of home
This hostel is in a private home which gave an authentic "Roman" experience to my stay. Fabio and Domenico know Rome very well and are always available to give you tips or suggestions of what to see or how to get there. The hostel is very comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped so that you can cook your own meals. Location wise, You can take a bus to most sites in Rome, the metro is about 5m away and you can walk to the Colosseum in about 20m.
