Planet Traveler is one of the most iconic hostels in all Canada I have stayed at! It is super welcoming, the staff just makes an effort to welcome you and let you feel at home.
Their kitchen is massive and you can cook most likely anything you want. On that note, I also recommend to rent a bike here and take a ride to China Town. Had dinner there, some fabulous restaurants!
Last but not least: the roof top terrace with views! This is the highlight of this place, easy to meet and mingle. Just wonderful, stay here! Will be back!
It was clean, everybody was nice, and the rooftop is stunning!

Good breakfast, friendly staff
Very nice and friendly staff. The rooms are clean and quite modern. Lockers with built in plugs, very good idea. A lamp and a small shelf close to the bed would have been great, this is my suggestion for improvement. I really liked the breakfast, big choice, clean Kitchen. Can only recommend it!
This hostel is amazing, and I strongly suggest to all of my friends to stay there. Not only is the place really recent but everything is really clean and the staff is amazing! Definitely a good choice!

I booked my son in for a two day stay and when we got there he was refused entry because he was only 17. Nowhere in their website did it say you had to be over 18. Then to add insult to injury after denying him, they said we would be charged for the first night because we did not cancel the reservation in time. The only explanation that they could offer was that their website was being updated. It wasn't until I spoke to the manager that they relented and agreed not to charge us. My son ended up having to spend over $200 for a hotel room. Oh if if you are from Canada be sure to bring your passport because the foreigners at the front desk can't read a drivers licence.
Good location, good hostel with quite good facilities
The hostels location is quite close to town with good facilities around the hostel and good connection with transport and the airport. Modern hostel but small. All the areas compact except for large and good roof deck only problem no lift and steep stairs. Rooms small and compact, not much room to store gear. Generally friendly good staff and good included breakfast.

Clean and friendly
Clean and organized. Friendly staff, the entire set up is meant to make the visitor feel good, and clearly planned in such a way as to answer all possible needs. The room was a little small, but everything else made up for it. Great!
My first hostel, great
so clean, nice breakfast. fast wifi. fun new year eve party. great.
Absolutely loved it here. Staff was great, facilities were convenient, and definitely enjoyed the social events! It definitely was a highlight of my trip to the area. I'll definitely book again!
I absolutely loved this hostel! It was my first time travelling alone and staying in one so I was sure what to expect. But the location is perfect, its close to many bars, restaurants and public transit. The staff was super nice and welcoming. The hostel was clean and well organized. The free breakfast had lots of options and was delicious. They had some activities planned at night to allow us to get together with other travellers. Unfortunately I missed those but went up to the roof a few minutes before i
Best hostel ive ever been to
Great place to stay. Good location and the staff was super friendly
Absolutely loved Planet Traveler. It was great that they had different events each night to encourage everyone staying to meet. Everything was really nice and clean. Great location for access to public transport and also walkable to so many places.
Completely amazing! Nicest staff ever, kitchen for cooking, comfortable beds, great location- everything was perfect!
Amazing hostel!! Everything you want in a hostel: super friendly/helpful staff (extra shoutout to Natasha for going above and beyond), comfy beds in their own pods for privacy and a great night's sleep, perfect location in the center of one of Toronto's coolest neighborhoods, FREE BREAKFAST with bananas, a variety of toast/bagels, peanut butter, jams, and tons of cereals), late checkout (noon!), always clean, ensuite bathrooms, best of all ROOFTOP TERRACE!! The only place I'll stay in Toronto!
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I was especially impressed how Natalia carried my bag upstairs :) The hostel has many great things as free popcorn and a breakfast. Every evening there are some special activities provided by the hostel as a game night or barbecue. One recommendation would to have mirrors also in the rooms as now there are only in the bathrooms. This would cut the time of people being in the bathroom as one could do the make up in the room as well. Highly recommend!
10/10 hostel! Exceeded my expectations, and the staff was super welcoming and friendly too especially Loella!
If youre on the fence whether to stay in this hostel or not, Id say just book it! Has a rooftop patio with a great view of the city skyline, complimentary breakfast with variety of options, located basically at Kensington Market and so close to everywhere else downtown!
Very nice hostel in a great location. Staff was very friendly! Would stay here again
Planet Traveler has now spoiled me for any other hostel. The staff were SO friendly. They have thought of so much that a traveler needs. Locks and towels and a place for community food and toiletries! The roof is amazing, especially for watching the sun set over the city and a great place to decompress on your own or chat with fellow travelers and get ideas or make plans. The kitchen facilities with free breakfast (until 1 pm!) and all day tea/coffee was so great and honestly always clean.
It was just overall perfect. The staff is amazing
The VIEW!!!! Location is great, at the top of Kensington Market with all amenities close by. Clean, staff were awesome. Room was small...as was the locker, I couldn't fit any bags in it. Breakfast was OK. I didn't feel had as buzzy an atmosphere as some other hostels, it is more a chill vibe. I think they are missing a trick not having a roof top bar!
My only complaint no elevator, the building has 4 floors and I was on the 3rd floor.
For those us who are older they were quite a. challenge climbing up those stairs.
This is a great place to stay in Toronto! Kensington market is right around the corner with lots of shops and restaurants. The rooftop has a lovely view and there are daily events to meet people. The common areas do close at midnight which can be annoying if you get back late and want to use the kitchen.
Checks all the boxes , clean, safe , great location , fair price. There is an awesome roof terrance but really no vibe or atmosphere to the place, not much character.
Awesome place to stay! Lovely, friendly staff, great facilities and a chill vibe. Highly recommend!
All staff here are very welcoming and its location is very convenient just next to UoT and Chinatown. The atmosphere is fantastic, they organize different activities each night. I met lots of nice people here.
This was my first time staying at a hostel and I absolutely loved it. Definitely going to be staying at more for future trips. The building and rooms had AC which was awesome with the heat we were getting, the roof was a common place to hang out and talk with other travelers, everyone was incredibly friendly and open. The hostel itself does events every night like trivia, bingo, bbq, etc.
Fantastic hostel. Great location especially for young people. Public transport right to the door, very clean and sociable, with helpful and friendly staff available all the time.
Nice mix of a capsule hotel and a hostel. Loads of opportunities to socialise (e.g. events every evening), so ideal for anyone who is either a social butterfly or who likes their downtime. Even has a rooftop with amazing views of downtown Toronto and the CN Tower.
Cant recommend more highly!
