The Location
Cheers Hostel is located right in the heart of the action! As it's only a five-minute walk to the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque complex, you will find loads of museums and restaurants within walking distance of the hostel. It is close to ATMs and currency exchange places as well, and is right on the tram line, making it easy to get about on public transport if you are looking at venturing further out of the city exploring.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are spread across the first three floors of the building. Each floor has its own bathroom and toilet that you can use and they are in good condition and cleaned daily. The rooms have comfortable beds, and are quite spacious so there is room to keep your things.
Common Spaces
The two most common hangouts of the Cheers Hostel are the front porch and reception area on the first floor and the upstairs bar. A delicious, free breakfast is served every morning out of the kitchen area and people eat this on the tables inside near reception or on the outside porch area at the front of the hostel. There are loads of tables and chairs where you can sit and hang about, and people are playing backgammon and chilling out here quite a bit.
The top floor of the building has been converted into a giant living area and a bar. There is a floor-based lounge area where people can sit and talk; there's also a dart board here if you are feeling adventurous whilst sinking loads of beers from the bar. Some nights the bar is quiet, while some nights it can get fairly raucous depending on the crowd that is there, but it is always a good time and also quite a cool place to hang out in the afternoons as well as there are beautiful views over the city and it's quite chill.
Summary
This place will become more like a home to you than a hostel. The wonderful staff that work here are just incredible people and they will become your friends. There is also Zaman, the golden retriever here, who is the most placid and lovely dog. He will look at you with soppy eyes at breakfast when you pull out an egg or some cheese, but it is all part of what makes this place a really special place to be. It is not the most modern or the most immaculate hostel that you will come across on your travels, but it will the one that takes a piece of your heart, which is why so many people come here and find it so very hard to leave. There is nowhere else you should consider staying in Istanbul!

Cheers Hostel Istanbul is located in a perfect location right in the very heart of the Old City of Istanbul, in Sultanahmet. We are only 1 minute walking distance from the most famous sights like Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Underground Cistern and Topkapi Palace, not to mention the Grand Bazaar and many other sightseeing attractions of oriental Istanbul.
Our Istanbul hostel offers a comfortable, clean and budget stay in a warm and friendly atmosphere. In our lounge area with TV and free Internet & Wi-fi access, you can enjoy a cup of coffee or Turkish tea, read, play backgammon or have a good chat with the other international travelers visiting exciting Istanbul.
Our Wintergarden Panoramic Terrace Bar offers breathtaking views overlooking the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Taksim and is open all year long. In the summertime, you can enjoy a refreshing self-mixed Mojito on our bar while sunbathing and relaxing, or in the wintertime, enjoy a hot drink. Make yourself comfortable next to our cozy fireplace and have a glass of wine. We also serve a delicious Turkish breakfast buffet on the terrace.
Our hostel rooms are mostly 6,8 and 10 bed dormitories with individual lockers but we also have a number of budget double rooms, triple rooms, twin-bed rooms and family rooms.
Please note that some properties require a small deposit for a key or padlock to the lockers, although in most instances guests would be able to use their own padlock without charge.
There are common showers and bathrooms on the corridors. All rooms have air-conditioning and heating. Linen and towels are included.
Our helpful and friendly reception will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

• 1. FROM SABIHA GOKCEN
• The distance between the Sabiha Gokcen airport and Cheers Hostel Is 65 km.
• Taxi
• Taxis are available from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to the historic Sultanahmet district. The journey time may change according to the time of day and traffic conditions(road works,diversions etc), but allow between 60 and 90 minutes. Cost can vary, but a typical fare during the day is around 85 TL
• Havas Bus Services
• To get to the Sultanahmet which is the principal tourist area In the city, you can take the "Airport Havas shuttle bus service" and get off at "Kadikoy". It costs 7,00TL. Then, you can take ferries from Kadikoy and get off at Eminonu.
• Trams run on the route between Eminonu, SirkecI, Sultanahmet, Beyazit, Aksaray, Topkapi and Zeytinburnu.
• Public Bus Services
• Using (public bus IETT) E-3 KURTKOY - UYDUKENT - 4. LEVENT METRO will cost 2,60TL. 4.Levent-TaksIm subway has also connections to Taksim. It will cost 1,30TL. Then public bus has also connection to Sultanahmet by T4 IETT bus.
• 2. FROM ATATURK AIRPORT
• The distance between the Ataturk Istanbul airport and Cheers Hostel Is 18 km.
• The best and cheapest way to get to the Hostel Is to take the light metro from the airport.
• From the Airport or the Bus Station (Otogar), take the Metro to ''AKSARAY'. As you leave the Metro Station, go through the underground passage and straight onto the pedestrian walkway, then walk over a bridge and down the steps to reach the 'YUSUF PASA' Tram Stop. Transfer onto the tram and get off at 'SULTANAHMET'' (the 5th stop).
