Quiet Oasis in Cusco
This hostel has very friendly management that are happy to answer your questions, it's clean, offers fast WiFi, as well as access to a computer, hot water, a laundry service and good breakfast of tea/coffee, juice or smoothie, bread, eggs and jam. It is a 10-15 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas, but that's why it has no traffic noise. There are several relaxation areas, both indoor and out. All the right ingredients.
Good Hostel
The hostel was great, they didn't have the dorm rooms we booked, so they gave us a private room and honored the price we booked at. They were very accommodating, the showers were good, beds were warm and comfy. Very close to the square, the reception people have lots of good information. Breakfast was very good. The only thing is that the temperature in the hostel is the same as outside, so we were bundled up at night in the hostel, but once in the bed it was perfectly warm. Definitely recommend.
Nice place, very friendly staff
We stayed two nights before and one after Machu Pichu, the hostel has a special atmosphere and the stuff was very helpful. We could store some luggage there, too. Dislike -- quite loud and other people used our "private" bathroom opposite our room.
Fantastic, great place to stay in Cusco!
My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights before Machu Picchu and 2 nights after! We arrived at 6am and were greeted with a smile. The staff at this hostel are incredible, taking care of our every need and making time for any requests we had. The location is good and only a short walk to the main plaza. The owner is a great guy, he gave us some invaluable information about the local market, saving us lots of money. He also arranged for taxis, luggage storage, and a room for our return from Machu Picchu! Breakfast was great with fruit, eggs, smoothies and the usual bread, tea and coffee. The lady serving breakfast is wonderful and will bend over backwards to make your day start off right. The kitchen is small but fully stocked with everything you could need! The rooms are clean, large and there are lockers available too. I would highly recommend this hostel and will definitely come back on our next visit to Cusco. Thank you for a great stay!
Friendly staff, nice hostel
Good hostel. Friendly staff and nice beds. Not the most social but it still offers good amenities at an excellent price. Would recommend.
Super caring staff, good breakfast, relaxed atmosphere
Caring Staff (Javier is just the best, speaks very good english). Laundry Service. Good Breakfast (good coffee, scrambled eggs, tea) in beautiful dining room. Free Wifi. Beautiful house with terrace, small garden. Two commen areas with TV and DVDs. Great place to stay and Cusco before and after Machu Picchu and for exploring the city center and San Blas.
Great place to stay; cheap, clean, friendly
We really enjoyed our stay at Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to us. They offer free locker storage even for nights you're not staying with them, which was really useful when our group was away for 4 days hiking the Inca Trail. It's a little out of the ways of some of the other popular hostels (it's maybe a 15-20 minute walk to Plaza de Armas), but the service and staff are great.
Best hostal I've ever stayed at
In brief,Javier and the team at Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta really deserve 5 out of 5. Location wise, the hostal is a little out of the main area, but I like that, because you get to see more of the city and locals doing their day to day thing. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Plaza de Armas. The service is very friendly, professional and helpful. Javier will always find time to resolve any problems you may have. When my friend's luggage failed to arrive from England, he contacted the airlines so she could go on her pre-arranged tours. But as with any great service, the whole team are class. They work very hard to keep the hostal clean. The rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily and I don't think I've ever seen such highly polished floors before. I suppose this is a bit of a downfall in an odd way because I kept slipping on the rugs on the polished floors. At 3am half asleep, it's a bit of a wakener! Breakfast is bread, butter and jam but with additions of pancakes, eggs or juice and they'll still serve you if you miss the 10am deadline. If you do want to stay in a quiet, non party hostal with tip top service and always a smile, book yourself a room at Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta. It's very good value for money and I doubt you'll regret it!
