Hostel City Sleep-In

The Review

Arhus City Sleep-in is a great place and a great value hostel. It is designed with a lot of common spaces for guests to meet each other and to socialize. The staff members are very friendly, helpful, and caring as well.

The Location

The hostel is located near the city center and the train station. It only takes ten minutes to walk from the train station (Århus H). It is quite easy to find the hostel from the train station. However, if you are arriving in Århus at night, you should print out or take note of the directions from the train station to the hostel, as it can be quite tricky to find the hostel at night. There is a 7-eleven outlet near the hostel (about five minutes' walk), where you can get some snacks any time of the day.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The dorm rooms are great and are definitely worth the price. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable -- the only downside is that during winter it can get pretty chilly at night. Each person has one big locker to store his belongings, but locks are not provided (bring your own or buy one from reception). Showers and toilets are very clean, although there seem to only be two toilets and four shower rooms per floor.

Common Spaces

This hostel is designed with a lot of common spaces for people to mingle -- there are TV rooms, outdoor chairs and tables where you can have a BBQ, a pool table, and common kitchen. The common rooms are very comfortable with big sofas and tables, where you can meet other people and chat with them or just chill out and enjoy your own company. The kitchen is big and is well-furnished. There is free Wi-Fi, accessible from anywhere in the hostel. The hostel also provides computers and access to free internet in the lobby as well.

Arhus City Sleep-In offers what most travelers look for in a budget hostel -– comfortable and safe rooms, clean showers and toilets, convenient location, excellent atmosphere, and helpful and friendly staff members. We would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Århus!

It could be an amazing place, but it isn't. Put in some more work staff and this place would be amazing.

Pretty standard hostel
I know their tagline is something like "More than just a hostel", but really it isn't at all. In fact, it's about as standard as you can get. In fact, the bunks without ladders, limited reception hours, and internet that only works half the time might even make it less than many hostels I've stayed in. Certainly it's not bad, and it will do for those stopping in the area for a night or two ... and in Arhus there are not so many alternatives anyway.
Great Youth Hostel
Nice place with great people and nice friendly staff hostel. Very clean rooms and good kept kitchen with free access to internet and pool table. Recommended to others.

It's situated very central but that leads unfortunately to a lot of noise from the neighbouring bars. We tried to sleep there on a saturday night which unfortunately was almost impossible since the bars are open to 5 am. To summarize it it's probably good to sleep there sunday to wednesday but if you're so unlucky to get a room to the courtyard in the weekend you better have some serious earplugs or a lot of beer in your belly. Beside the noise it's ok.
Great Location, Good Price!
A great location to explore the city -- whether it is the inner centrum or the beaches that you want to visit! The hotel has some nice features, like a backyard, a clean and nice looking dining room, a play room, a good kitchen and much more. Good stay!

Good location within walking distance of most sights. Large self-catering kitchen and spacious dining area. Nice outdoor patio. Unfortunately, next door to a bar playing loud live music all night. Combined with squeaky bunk beds and thin pillows, "sleeping in" wasn't a total option.

City sleep-in is a very cheap place to stay. The rooms are clean and the staff are very nice and helpful. In the summer it's also a great place to meet other people from around the world. Very central. For the price this is a VERY good place to stay. No luxury, but then again, where can you get luxury for this price?
