Hostel Villa Garden is a dorm in a small building of apartments located few minutes walk from the main entrance to Dubrovnik's old town.

The Location

The hostel is actually a dorm with six beds on the ground floor of a small building with small apartments. It is located a few minutes walk uphill from Dubrovnik's old town main gate. Along this street there are a couple of small markets or convenience stores and there is a place for breakfast or meals a few meters down the street. The location would be the property's main feature, being close to the old town but much cheaper than anything that can be found inside. There are parking garages nearby.

The property's staff don't seem to pay much attention to this room, taking up to a day or two to change the sheets and towels from previous guests. They are not always in the property, so contacting them in advance is advisable in case or early or late check-ins.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The room is clean, with six beds crammed inside and not a lot of space. There are small lockers inside the room, and there is a TV and a mini fridge. The bathroom is acceptable, although it runs out of hot water very quickly. There are two towels provided per guest.

The room doesn't have a lock, so the door is always open, meaning anyone with a key to the front door can access it, or anyone at all if the front door is not closed properly. The keys to the lockers appear to work on more than one of them indistinctly, so travelers concerned about safety of their personal belongings might be a little wary.

Common Spaces

There is a small kitchen on the ground floor next to the room where hostel guests can prepare simple meals. There are a couple of sofas and a common area of sorts on the first floor and there is a terrace with a garden at the top, with some chairs. There is a washing machine available. There are a few Wi-Fi networks throughout the property, but the one or two that reach the dorm room are a bit spotty.

Summary

This hostel is just OK, advisable if the price found is good or the traveler isn't looking for a lot of comfort or luxury and wants to stay just outside of the old city walls.

We offer a nice place to stay in Dubrovnik where you can fully immerse yourself in an authentic Dubrovnik experience. Latest check in is 10:30 PM.

Hostel Villa Garden offers private rooms with bathroom and kitchen (or access to a shared kitchen). A common room and terrace offer guests an opportunity to relax after a long day. All rooms have air conditioning, fridge, clean linen & towels. (Each room has its own air condition unit)
