Antalya has a little more than one million people and is a leading sea resort in Turkey. The historic city center is practically not affected by modern buildings and it combines elements of Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman architecture -- a result of the complicated history of the Turkish state. There are many parks in Antalya and three waterfalls close to the city. Only forty kilometers from the city, you can go skiing on a ski slope with real snow. A large variety of bars, cafes, and restaurants, able to suit all tastes and budgets is scattered in the city. The city has also many historical monuments such as ruins of fortifications, the Monument of Ataturk, the Museum of Archaeology, the Ataturk House and Museum, the Murat Pasha Mosque, and the Yivli Minaret (built in the thirteenth century).
Antalya hostels are not many, but as this is a fairly new business in the Turkish resort, their numbers are growing and are likely to continue this growth. Finding a hostel in Antalya is not very hard in the summer, but most Antalya hostels close during the rest of the year. As Antalya is one of the best sea resorts in Turkey, most Antalya hostels are situated very close to the beach and it is almost impossible to find Antalya hostels far from the sea. Antalya hostels have good living conditions and the prices are quite low, so you can have a great budgeted vacation.
