This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Delft.

Delft is a city in the Netherlands that's very well known for the famous blue pottery called "Delftware." This particular and traditional kind of pottery is typical from this city but it's possible to find it a bit everywhere in the Netherlands. In Delft there even is a lamppost in the street beautifully done with this kind of pottery, which is totally hand painted -- do not miss this lamppost whilst in Delft, because is quite unique. It's also possible to visit what apparently is the oldest factory that makes Delftware, in fact it should still be working.

Delft is a typical Dutch city with stunning canals and traditional Dutch architecture. To get a great view of the city, it's best to climb the "Nieuwe Kerk" (which means "new church") tower -- there are just under four hundred steps but the view at the top is worth the effort.

To have a comfortable stay in Deft without spending too much money, a hostel in Delft is probably the best idea. There is a hostel in Delft where it's possible to book a two-person minivan for a night full of romance or simply to try something different, or if fancying a traditional accommodation, dorms are also available.

There is also a nice windmill that can be seen and which is just outside town (about five kilometers away) that's not too difficult to reach though.

There also is a lovely market that happens in the city center twice a week (Thursday and Saturday). It's great to visit this market where fresh and local products including food, flowers, and others can be found.
