São Paulo is the biggest city in Brazil and one of the largest in the world by population. São Paulo city, located in the southeastern part of Brazil, in the state of São Paulo, is the most developed city in Brazil, so you will need more than a couple of days to see it.

During your stay, you cannot miss the main attractions, including Ibirapuera Park, where you can relax or jog and walk. In this park is located the center of conventions; on weekends there are free concerts (during your visit, check their events schedule). Paulista Avenue is the commercial city centre with the best shops, fancy restaurants, and hotels. In the city centre, you should visit Bixiga for the best restaurants and nightlife; Liberdade, which is a kind of local Chinatown; and Vale do Anhangabau, which is a beautiful square that is worth seeing. Mountain Pico do Jaragua is the highest point in the city that gives you an amazing view of the landscapes from the top.

São Paulo has a lot to offer, like good shops, cafes, book stores, and fancy restaurants. São Paulo is also a city rich in culture and events, so during your stay try to book a theater or a music show –- it's really worth it.

São Paulo has a lot of hostels, most of them with really good facilities where you can have the chance to meet other backpackers and share a few stories. Most of times, São Paulo hostels are a good value for money -- try to book in advance to have better rates.
