In the center of one of the most prestigious and better preserved districts of the historical center of Piazza Armerina, the Hostel of Borgo is found near the monumental complexes that lean out on the ancient Plan of Padre Santo (then of the fair, today Martyr of Hungary plaza), near the church of Commenda (XII sec.) and the Theater (XIX sec.).
The ancient center, Garibaldi plaza is found two hundred meters away from the complex, while the stately Baroque Cathedral and the district Monte, suburb of Norman foundation, to ten minutes of walk among the splendid built scenes, rich of churches and buildings.
The Hostel of Borgo occupies a wing of the ancient monastery of S. Giovanni of the Benedictine nuns. It was built in the XIV sec. to the borders of the Borgo of Plaza, it had widened to halves the XV sec. In that occasion, its principal entry was moved from the plan of Padre Santo (today S.Giovanni) to the road of the Prince (today Garibaldi street). Subsequently the monastery suffered further interventions up to that realized after 1860 that it gave him the actual aspect.
The Hostel of the Borgo has 16 heated rooms, with services, drawn from the ancient cells of the nuns and soberly you furnish.
