Glaciar Perito Moreno Hostel is a clean, modern hostel that offers mostly private rooms, but also has a couple of four-bed dorms. Despite having no atmosphere, it has excellent modern facilities and lots of nice touches such as a breakfast buffet and clean towel included in the room price.
The Location
Glacier Perito Moreno Hostel is located directly behind the bus station (about thirty seconds’ walk), which is very convenient if you plan on doing a lot of bus travel, but less convenient for seeing the town centre, which is a twenty-minute walk away. The area has a cafe and a couple of small shops selling snacks, but the nearest big supermarket is twenty minutes’ walk away. Likewise, you will need to walk to the centre to find an ATM.
There is very little to do in this area, but it does make a convenient base for a quick visit to El Calafate. Essentially, if you are planning on spending more than a day in El Calafate, you might prefer somewhere more central, but for a quick stopover this location is fine.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel has mostly private rooms as well as some four-bed dorms. Rooms and dorms have en suite bathrooms. The rooms and bathrooms are modern and very clean. Beds are comfy and come with clean sheets, a fresh towel, and personal soap. Dorms come with large lockers and several charging sockets. The large, modern en suites are in good working order and have hot showers.
Common Spaces
There are two common areas -- a seating area next to the reception, and a large communal kitchen. Common spaces are bright, clean, and modern. The kitchen is spacious and well organised. A pleasant buffet breakfast with several options is included in the room price. There is good Wi-Fi throughout rooms and common areas. The helpful owner can usually be found at reception and accepts payments by cash and card.
There is no atmosphere at Glacier Perito Moreno Hostel. Most people are just stopping over for a day or two and are not looking to socialise.

Glacier Perito Moreno Hostel is clean, modern, and convenient for those traveling by bus. It has no atmosphere and there is little to do for entertainment in this part of town, but if you have a quick stopover in El Calafate and are looking for somewhere clean and convenient, this is the place for you.

We are located at a few meters from the main road, in front the new bus terminal, 300 meters from the new Tourism Secretary in the Barrio Viejo Airport, close to the majestic Lake Argentino and 30 minutes from the International Airport of El Calafate.
