• Vieques is eight miles off the Eastern coast of Puerto Rico. The plane ride from Ceiba is ten minutes. You must make reservations a few days ahead of time with Vieques Air Link (888-901-9247). You can also take the ferry from Fajardo, which takes one hour and costs $2 for adults and $1 for seniors and children under twelve. Tickets for persons over 75 years old are free. Tickets are sold at the harbor on a first come, first served basis, so plan accordingly. During the busy season and on peak holidays, it is recommended to make the ferry trip on mid-week days or get to the dock very early in order to secure a place in line at the ticket window.
• Once the ferry arrives at the Vieques docks, you will see a row of vans parked outside the main gates. These are the public's that take passengers without vehicles to their destinations. The charge to take guests to The Hostel is $3-5 per person.
