The Flora Macdonald Hostel stands in magnificent surroundings at Kilmore in the south end of the Isle of Skye, approximately two and a half miles north of the Armadale Ferry, on the A851. The area is the traditional home of the MacDonald clan of Sleat. Free transport is provided to and from the Armadale ferry.
The hostel has two dormitories sleeping 10, and three rooms which sleep 4. It has just recently been modernised, upgraded and reclassified, and has full central heating. It has a fully equipped kitchen with all accessories, a drying room with washing machine and tumble dryer, shower, toilets and washhand basin. There is a conservatory for relaxation, and a payphone and fax.
It is run by Peter MacDonald, Skye's Number One tour guide, who has two people carriers for conducting personalized tours of the island. He also breeds rare Eriskey Ponies and Black Highland Cattle.
