The stately brick Federal Style Ironmaster's Mansion was built in 1829 and is nestled in the beautiful Pine Grove Furnace State Park in south-central Pennsylvania. The Mansion is immediately adjacent to and at the mid-point of the 2,186-mile Appalachian Trail. The Mansion boasts a large balcony, perennial gardens, picnic tables, a fire-ring, 28 beds in 2 dorm-style rooms, a dining room, lounge area with grand piano, free WiFi, and free use of a computer with internet. The State Park has two lakes, streams, swimming beaches, camp store, boat and bike rental, fishing, bird watching, food concessions, picnic pavilions, boat launch, camping, hiking, ATV and snowmobile trails, mountain biking, ice skating, cross-country skiing, and hunting and trapping in designated areas. The Mansion is approximately 20 miles from Gettysburg, Carlisle, Shippensburg and Caledonia State Park and is within minutes of Kings Gap Environmental Center. Groups are welcome.

The hostel is open Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesdays) from April 1 through October 31 from 7-9 AM and 5-9 PM.
