Description

Home and Hostel is located in the heart of the city, close to bars, churches, parks and tourist attractions of the city. "House of Masks", as is known the building dates from 1863. It was built by the architect Jacobo Galvez for the Sanromán (a family of editors and political leaders). Eclectic style the great facade has three windows, door and window, all with irregular cornice supported by scrolled and finished in half arches. The east and west sides of the mansion are delimited by two pilasters, crowned by way of capital for a couple of masks finely carved in black stone that inspired other buildings in the early twentieth century. Inside, the courtyard is delimited by a corridor north and south, each wearing three arches supported by stone columns in Tuscan. This house, the Teatro Degollado, El Hotel Francés and the mausoleums Hotel Luna, Remus and Belen Cemetery are the only buildings which survive from the illustrious architect Galvez.
