Location

• By plane:
• There are two flights daily from Madrid to San Sebastian, and one flight from Barcelona. The airport is situated in Hondarribia/Fuenterrabia. You can get a bus or a taxi to San Sebastian.
• By Train:
• RENFE is the national train company in Spain. Madrid and Barcelona are directly connected to San Sebastian. Irun and are France are also connected by train. from the train station just follow the river until the first bridge from the sea coast, cross that bridge, and turn right,walk two blocks and turn left, this is Euskal Herria street and on the 4 of that street there is the hostel.
• It could be a good idea to travel over night from Madrid or Barcelona (around 6 hours from Madrid and 7 from Barcelona).
• From Paris you can get the TGV (High speed train, around 5 hours) that takes you to Irun. The TGV works with the French train company SNCF. In Irun you just get the regular train which takes 20 minutes to get to San Sebastian.
• By Bus:
• San Sebastian is very well connected to the principal cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Pamplona, Vitoria, Burgos, Alicante, Salamanca, Galicia
• Continental is the company if you are coming from Madrid, Burgos or Vitoria. La Roncalesa from Pamplona and Pesa from Bilbao.
• There is also an international service, Euro-lines, that gets you to London (22 hours including the time the Ferry takes from Dover to Calais). This service is also offered if you are coming from Paris.
• By car:
• From Madrid: Get the N-I (B/A roud) through Burgos and Vitoria/Gasteiz. It is worthy to get the highway between Burgos and Miranda de Ebro and follow Vitoria. (4.30 hours)
• From Barcelona get the N-II to Zaragoza. When you reach Zaragoza get the N-121 to Pamplona. From Pamplona it takes 45 minutes to get to San Sebastian. (6 hours)
• From Bilbao: Get the highway A-8. It takes one hour. I f you want you can go along the cost where you have beautiful sights but it takes around 2 or 3 hours due to the traffic.
• From Pamplona get the A-15 and the N-I to get to San Sebastian. Around 45 minutes.
